In the latest News Update you (343) wrote, that there is already a private Forge Flight going on with “a small group of community creators”.

I’m probably not fame enough to be remembered or simply too bad in community-building, but!
I made some really nifty forge maps in the past

For example, this Ragnarok/Valhalla Remake where the Pelican crashed down during the match:

Also, I was experimenting with Weapon-lockers, Drop-Pods, animated Vehicle Spawns and other features to make the maps feel more “alive”, before you implemented that stuff to Infinite. So, we basically share the same vision

I would love to be part of this private Flight to share my experience with you, to make this the best Forge mode ever.

So, if anyone important reads this…I’m basically just sitting here waiting for your call

But then you have a Reddit account. Reddit isn’t a forum, it’s a content aggregation site with a big comment section.

I’m out of touch with the latest news but Reddit might be getting stock on the stock exchange soon so things might change drastically in the next few months.

People say that 343i uses Reddit more than their own website because a handful of confirmed employees will reply to posts. There is a bot that will make a comment, pin that comment, and then link to all 343i responses in that thread. When this happens a thread will also get a little green rectangle saying [ 343i response ].

You’d have a very bad time directly responding to 343i employees with off-topic questions or starting the conversation in general. My recommendation is to do the following:

1. Practice making youtube videos.
2. Demonstrate in those youtube videos the value of your map.
3. Post these videos to Reddit as content.

There is a big problem here though. You will first have to read through the subreddit (r/halo is a sub-reddit because it’s a sub-section of Reddit) for rules because if you violate the rules of the place then the people who moderate the subreddit will delete your post. Maybe you can’t post your own forge content because that’s self-promotion? I don’t know. You should look.

Be aware that even “big-name” youtubers in the Halo community may not actually be getting special treatment. 343i is closed doors on a lot of things. Nobody knows if they are looking for more forgers, nobody knows what their process is, and nobody knows how to get chosen.

IMO trying to get on 343i’s good side is a fool’s errand unless you want a job there. Make your decisions based off of the company’s actions and their promises second.

I just made a post about this too. I would love to participate and if they provided an ability to apply on a waiting list to be one of those testing out forge they could get a lot of people that actually plan to use forge mode in the future giving them feedback of what’s good/bad/broken/unnecessary or additions to be added. If you find a way into it let me know. Forge is what im most looking forward to in later updates

They said something about making Forge a Public Flight later on in the year, but chances are the ones picked for the Beta right now were specifically hand picked by 343 for whatever reasons, just like the Pros they get feedback from.

I imagine they were some of the Forger’s who have worked with 343 before… like some of the community maps that went through to Halo 5 playlists.

I can’t remember, did 343i recommend signing up for the insider program? That’s the one thing that you should do if you want to have a chance of playing a broader demo early.

Claim to fame. I feel like the Insider Program for which ever always needs to be proactive rather than reactive. I think it might be a touch too late to be part of it. Keep communicating and networking to try and grow to possibly make it to the next one.
