I’m confused. I usually play with pretty low rank friends Silver, Bronze, Gold. I’m currently got ranked in Bronze 3. I admit I thought this was too low for me. The first few matches I dominated.(after being ranked). 10-15 matches later now I consistently match with Onyx and Diamond Players( this is when I run solo) I can’t seem to get Gold or Silver level players especially considering I’m still at Bronze… Makes the game very unplayable because I can’t compete with a full team of onyx players.

Do you play a lot of non-ranked? If so do you win/ perform really well? Winning and performing really well in social playlists will match you with higher skilled players and this will translate to ranked modes as well.

I’ll give you a hint. It’s because nobody plays Halo Infinite ranked except people that just started playing or never stopped playing Halo Infinite ranked. There is no middle group, because even HCS players are sick of playing Halo Infinite ranked. High ranks get free wins, and low ranks can never climb.

nah its not that. There is actually a lack of players now and the only regulars are the ones that are up in those higher ranks. So to find games faster they ease up on that searching variable.

Unfortunately, it probably is because no one is playing ranked, or the game in general. Not due to people never playing. Not enough people are in the game to fill these lower rank matches, hopefully season 2 will bring some people back for more than a week.

Matchmaker is dyslexic
The issue drastically spiked after 343 did that “anti-region blocking” update so people couldn’t block servers anymore to get better ping local matches, but also caused Diamond and Onyx players to frequently match against and team up with Bronze and Silver players. It still never got fixed, and that update caused a lot of people to just quit playing, worsening the issue.

I’ve been in matches where every rank under the sun was in lobby, pretty odd. I can only put it down to mixed ranks partying up.
Sounds like it’s working very well. A smurf is being forced to play players they should be playing. High MMR, very low CSR. The CSR will catch up fast but in the meantime this player can’t ruin even more legitimate bronze games than they initially have.

Nope, its going to force him to go against onyx level players while he has golds on his team so he will struggle to rank up.

It’s because your ‘real rank’ and hidden ‘MMR’ rank are different and your MMR will increase or decrease based on immediate game performance. That’s why even though you’re bronze, you might have the MMR of Diamond.
It’s why ranked is currently utterly pointless because you won’t get ranked with similar ranked players, instead you’ll get matched with similar skilled players.
I only play ranked to complete the challenges, it’s miserable experience. But don’t worry, play some bot bootcamp and tank your MMR and then you can go back to ranked again.
It’s incredible how bad they’ve made ranked. Spectacularly screwed up.

Everything about this game’s implementation of skill based matchmaking is a bad joke. Ranked CSR is 100% meaningless because the game does everything based on hidden MMR.
The game plays like its systems were designed by an AI, not by a competent human who can playtest and determine if something makes sense or not.

OP is a clear smurf, and a pain in the -Yoink!- to anyone who plays ranked.
Easily checked via HaloTracker as Ken caught. Threw all ten placement matches by going horribly negative against bronze/silver/gold (e.g. 0 kills per game in some cases), then magically starting dropping twenty, thirty, fifty kill games once they secured the bronze CSR. Now they’re stuck in some sort of vortex, annoying the hell out of the onyx and diamond players by screwing with win percentages, but they’re not good enough to win consistently and have their CSR catch up, since it can’t give them more than 15 per win.
Eventually, they’ll get to their natural rank, but I would guess they’ll then want to go ahead and create a new smurf, right?

Ranked has been severely messed up since they reset it. It was 100x better before. Sure some people were better here and there but overall it seemed fair. Now…it just blows and all I get matched against are clans 6-12 rankings above me.
