earlier i was playing halo 4 as i got bored of noob teammates on bf3. and i changed my service tag to ‘SR41’ to represent my rank, it came up with a warning thing along the lines of ‘this service tag is invalid for xbox live’ (along those lines, but definetly xbox live) and i was wondering, what could be so bad about it, and is it just because that is my rank ( its not my rank anymore). anyone have an explanation or try and put your rank in as service tag?
also what is so bad about sr41? is it sral? or srat? idk what is up with it but if you have answers i would LOVE to know.
Not sure on this. I know they block the inappropriate tags that can be made, but idk why SR41 would be blocked
Mabey it was blocked by accidents when they were making the game, it’s bound to happen.
As you stated, it may be something that can be bypassed by placing SR41.

probably.
Must be one of 343i’s rules. I can’t seem to find another reason.
You can’t have some pretty cool stuff.
There are a certain number of tags that are reserved for particular reasons - some are for staff only, some are blacklisted. I found a list recently, I’ll see if I can find it again.
Ok, here is a a quick list from Halo Wikia. Don’t see SR41 there, so either they’ve updated the list at some point for whatever reason or perhaps the server is glitching out when running a check. Have you tried running some boundarcy checks? See if SR40 / SR42 / SQ41 / SS41 / etc bring back similar results
