if you have legit halo 4 copy you will be fine. But play on november 6th in case if you want.
Why would you get in trouble for a legal copy?
people are going to get banned before halo 4 comes out and after it comes out do to hackers trying to hack the game with aimbots and god modes etc

Why play a unreleased game (illegal copy) online? It doesn’t make sense.
This means anything evidence of the Halo 4 Game on your Hard Drive older than November 5th will be suspect for immediate termination of the account, permanent ban of the I.P. address of where it was used.
I’m happy to hear this, all I have seen on facebook all week is people playing stolen copies and downloaded copies of Halo 4, several of them have had their facebooks deleted and I.P.s banned for that as well.

I’m pretty sure legitimate copies can get you banned. I heard of people who have gotten the game insanely early getting banned. This is because the retailer is breaking a contract they had with 343i and Microsoft saying they will sell it at the proper date. As a result, you playing it early can get you banned.
Hope I’m wrong but that is what I’m hearing.

Exactly! Why play it online? Microsoft will find out and terminate your account, and thats if you lucky. If you are going to buy a pirated game, at least try to hide it!

Its not only if you play online. If you play offline and then go online with another game they are banning you. Your xbox keeps logs recording what you play even when you aren’t connected to the internet. Microsoft is looking at those logs and banning people once they reconnect to the internet.
just dont play till the 6th and with a legal copy simple as that

Now that, I didn’t know. And then there is the simple solution to it which is buy on release.

A day early, and legit, will not get you banned. These people are playing 3 weeks before the release. I’d say the last week before release, they’ll stop with the bans, since Legit copies will be out there.

Wait, I’m confused, so I shouldn’t buy a legal copy if I played Halo 4 before the release date? What about NYCC, PAX and RTX? So my only option is to buy an illegal copy?
Your advice is potentially harmful to 343 you know, lots of people played Halo 4 before the release date at various expos and events, and will now be persuaded to go buy an illegal copy for fear of being banned…
Lol, nah he means buy a legal copy, and dont be tempted to download, play before the actual release date of any game. For a moment there I also read it as dont buy a legal copy for some reason, 
so I saw the same thing as you and had to read it twice lol, the Caps is what messed me up I believe.
