The game mode itself is incredibly fun. 343 did a good job at designing it… except for the fact that it’s so freaking easy for other players to use unsportsmanlike behavior and troll the hell out other players!
I played a game earlier today in which I spawned my very first legendary weapon ever (I’ve spawned legendary vehicles before). It was Tartarus’a Gavel or whatever the legendary gravity hammer is called. I’m running towards the enemies, off the main road, and then suddenly a guy splats me from behind with a warthog. He then proceeds to hop out, pick up my gravity hammer, and t bag me…
I’m sick of people purposely running others over. I’m sick of people Spartan charging my stationary Warthog while I’m on the turrent, and it flips the hog and they steal the turrent seat. I’I sick of people hopping into the hog and purposely driving me to my death so they can get the gunners seat as well. I’m sick of Wraiths who ram me while I’m in the scorpion, and they push me out of cover into the hellfire of two vehicle-stunning Wardens and I die.
I’m just so frustrated with this game mode. It’s not fun. It would be fun, but 343 has made it so easy for rude players to ruin the gaming experience of others.
Oh oh you know what else I forgot to mention? I once had 3 spartans charge my scorpion from the side before, and then I immediately got rammed by a Warthog right after. It flipped the scorpion, kicked me out of it, and one of them stole the scorpion. It was an obviously planned effort on their part to steal someone else’s req. This kind of behavior is INCREDIBLY toxic, and I really don’t want to return to this game mode anymore :/. Added salt to the injury is that WZFF is the best req points per hour as well…
That sucks, but this kind of trollish behavior doesn’t happen to me as much. Maybe you’re getting unlucky. Either way, I don’t know what 343 can do about it
I ran into a player like that a couple of weeks ago. Went back in theatre and saw that he did this the whole time to all of the teammates. Big surprise that we lost, right?
I’ve been splattered, and I have splattered teammates. It sucks, but more often then not it’s the accidental chaos inherent to the game. It’s a shame that other players will go out of their way to do it intentionally.
I have seen this kind of things, happen to me today. sometimes by mistake sometimes on porpuse. You have to understand that bad gamers are on the loose, and dont hate the game or the mode for this kind of “players”. get togheter with friends and make a fun day. im still looking for people to play. add me, im casual but can attend.
I am surprised that you enjoy WZFF, but not surprised that other “people” are ruining the experience for you.
It’s usually people with shallow personalities and little actual self-respect, that constantly need to validate their existence by acting like hormonal children.
I see it as an activity that is akin to that of a gorilla pounding its chest and bellowing into an empty forest (impressing itself more than anything else), and promptly report them for their unsportsmanlike behaviour.

I haven’t really had to deal with trolls from my memory. Seems rather unfortunate that you have, OP. Not much can be done about it, because people will pretty much always be like that.

Also, you can block and report the trolls. That usually works. (Not fool proof, obviously… but it does slightly decrease the chances of running into one.)
I have played A LOT of firefight lately and have never came across stuff like this. I guess that is your bad luck. Report and block the players and then you shouldn’t match with them again.

I don’t see how this is possible since there is no friendly fire in firefight so players can’t damage other players vehicles at all.

343’s flawed game design has nothing to do with the trolls. Even if Warzone Firefight was, in my opinion, near-perfect, there would still be lots of people out there that just play the game to ruin it for others.
343 is 100% responsible for the mode’s faults, because they created the game type. Sure, they did go off of some community feedback, but they ultimately made the decisions on how to acknowledge that feedback for the final product.
The trolls are 100% responsible for ruining the experiences of people who enjoy the game mode, because they go and screw with people’s fun.
That’s my stance on this topic. Feel free to disagree.

I wouldn’t say 100%, but to some degree, yes.
However, the problems of trolling should be prioritized before giving WZFF a refresh/reworking.

You can damage vehicle’s. You just cant destroy them but you will do dmg.
