Depends on the challenge. Just play some ranked or win some ranked?

Why does that matter?
I do not enjoy playing ranked. Regardless on if I win or not.

I hear you.
I don’t really like touching ranked mode but it does say Culminative score, so I don’t really have to sweat to get 2000 score per match, which is a -Yoink!- godsend.

I’ll go into Ranked, do my best, and get out.

Well, just play 3 ranked matches to complete the challenge is no thing. Just do it.
Win 3 matches of ranked in a specific gamemode, is a whole other thing.
Try to swap the challenge, if you get “get 10 kills in ranked” where is the problem? Just play it and then you are free to leave ranked.
Still much better than challenges like “destroy 5 warthog”.

This week I have 3 challenges that I’ve skipped in previous weeks. I’ve only ever skipped 4 challenges.

Bit of a pisstake.

Im really trying not to swap challenges. But there was one challenge, where i did not understand “what i had to do”. I think it was a translation problem. If they had left the english text, maybe i had understood what to do.
In my native language the challenge text was something like “stop the enemy bringing your flag”?!?!
I stopped a few time the carrier, i shot down the player who protected the carrier, i shot down the enemy near my flag, running to my flag, and so on.
I had to achieve it 5 times, After 10 CTF matches i gave up. Achieved 0 of 5
So, yes, there are challenges that i would like to put in a trash bin

True, but is the amount of ranked specific challenges that is insane. In my list it’s:

  • win 1 ranked match
  • complete 1 ranked strongholds match
  • complete 1 ranked arena match
  • win 2 ranked matches
  • win 1 ranked CTF match

And ofcourse you can’t do challenges at the same time, so you will have to play a lot of ranked matches with these amount of challenges that you can only do on ranked.

And i wonder how many quitters we will see since there are specific modes you have to play or even win and if i understood correctly you only get to chose the mode on socials, not ranked…

I think it could have been you had to kill people who are trying to reset there flag back to there base (so enemies who stand in the circle of the flag you have to capture). I had that challenge last week, so i could be that one.

Just a tip for next time: try to set your language to english and check your challenges then :wink:

I noticed the new 500XP challenges ALL are about Ranked.

  • Completions
  • Wins
  • CTF Wins
  • Probably more…

Did anyone get one that’s not tied to Ranked?

Fun story. I knew one of my upcoming challenges was “snipe a driver of a moving vehicle with the sniper rifle,” and I was complaining to my friend about it. Literally the game before I unlocked that challenge, I killed a warthog driver with the sniper.

Then I got the challenge afterwards. I immediately used a swap on it.

There’s two things challengers generally are there to exist…

  1. To be an actually challenge. Some of them are there to actually test you.
  2. To get you to try new things

unfortunately that means you’re going to have to do some that require you to do things you may not normally want to partake in. If you really don’t want to do them, you can pick other challenges to complete instead and ignore the ones you don’t want to do completely to they change on their own next week.

I wish “Upcoming Challenges” wasn’t a thing.
It’ll let us freestyle for abit and clear our challenges by chance before having to sweat over the last few for the week.

Wow, that seems annoying. I have a few ranked challenges this week too.

Easy fix for me though.

I don’t play games to collect dresses and play Barbie.
I don’t see that this progression system is anything other than dolly dress-up.
So I ignore the dress sim and play for fun.

For those of you that simply cannot play without unlocking dresses, there are really only three options.

  1. Continue to impress on 343i how awful the current system is.

  2. Suck it up.

  3. Stop caring about video game cosmetics (an obsession which has led to a real downturn in gaming quality the last few years, if not longer.)

I’m telling you I don’t like or want to play ranked. Yet you say it’s no thing? Just because you don’t see it as a problem, doesn’t mean it isn’t.
I have three challenges to win ranked games.
Capture the flag.
Oddball.
Slayer.
I also have a challenge to win 3 Ranked Slayers.
I can’t use challenge swaps on any of them. Because 343 shadow updated the game so you can’t swap ranked challenges.
Now am I allowed to complain?

If that;s the case then what is so challenging about playing three ranked matches?

I don’t need to try it. I don’t like or have any desire to play ranked.

Then don’t do it, do the other challenges or just play multiplayer matches for the sake of playing and enjoy multiplayer matches.
