Players who don’t understand the basics of RTS games often have hard times finding teams.
If the enemy team is being greedy or expanding too quickly you harass and punish them.
There aren’t ‘rushes’ in this game because optimal economy is achieved on 1 base. So basically you can’t ever get attacked before you’re ready (ie a rush) unless you don’t build a production building 6th or 7th, or don’t build units.
At which point it’s not a rush - the enemy doesn’t build units, you attack and win.
Using your units to attack or defend is always better than going for an expand because an expansion won’t pay off untill 15, 20 minutes into the game unless you’re building gauss or FE-ing.
