figured… people these days
Just wait till Microsoft announces a bonanza of exclusive games. It really is too soon to decide.
I personally will probably be getting the xbox. I buy about 3/4 games a year and often buy them new. Plus I am invested in my favourite series like Halo and GoW. Also I want to keep my Mass Effect save data in Mass Effect 4!
I don’t listen to IGN or any other review site, unless it’s got something to do with movies.
As you can see hear, IGN is trying to provoke peer pressure, 'cause let’s be honest, who makes a -Yoinking!- poll about 2 things no one understands fully.
Besides that was a poll about what community of IGN cares about, not the entire -Yoinking!- world, so calm down.
Not to surprising with all the conflicting news stories about the Xbox One after the reveal. Hopefully, E3 will restore people’s faith the future of Xbox.
We already know that Microsoft’s E3 conference won’t feature any talk of TV, and feature a major announcement for the 360. I’m looking forward to E3.

It may be a community poll, but seeing as IGN’s community is a bit of snapshot of the gaming community. Their poll probably isn’t too far off from the real consensus.
I don’t really pay attention to IGN. They’re one of the most corrupt reviewers out there…in fact, they aren’t even reviewers. They clearly have no idea how to do a simple job.
In any case, if we’re going with how things are RIGHT NOW then I’d say…yeah, that’s about right. Right now my mindset is that I’m not paying a penny to Microsoft for that ugly piece of plastic. If things change such as the Kinect having to always be plugged in and I see some actual gameplay of games that I give a toss about.
No offense FIFA and Call of Duty, but once again you all look the same as your predecessors.
Once I see something good, then I’ll consider it but as of right now I don’t think I’m going to bother with this so-called ‘Next Generation’ as both of these new consoles look like a step backward.
xbox is the most popular console in the US therefore people get very bitter here towards it. people hate success when its not theirs or something they support.

I’m listening…
I was unaware of any announcement fro the 360, I wonder what it could be?
Best case scenario, trade in your 360 s for 70% off the One, now that would be an offer not to shake a stick at!
I can see why. All these things that require fees and crap is probably drawing people away. Only those that are crazy dedicated to stay with Xbox will get it and -Yoink!- will be all over them like a money vacuum. All that and so many things, like the Kinect has to always be hooked up or it won’t run? And all this other crap? I really don’t like the sound of it.
I wouldn’t think of buying a PS4 if te price is similar to the ONE. The ONE having all those features is awesome, and it is still a gaming platform people. It WILL have great games. I personally have no reason for a PS4. Besides, HALO 5 and 6 WILL be epic/awesome…

What?
If the Xbox is so popular, that means loads of people would support it, not the other way around.
That would mean the Xbox’s polls would be good.
The main reason the Xbox One polls are so low at the moment is because they are beginning to lose focus on the games, and instead but it on other forms of entertainment such as TV.

My Kinect will be facing the wall

Your implying that they are losing focus on games, but this isn’t necessarily the case, what they’re doing is improving their focus on other forms of entertainment, but this only counts if people stop seeing things so negatively.

sigh
You do realize that the Xbox Event was confirmed to NOT be about the games?
They even stated later on that the entire point of the event was to get all the boring stuff out the way before E3. They’ve also confirmed that E3 will have a 90 minute panel all about games, games and more games. Nothing related to TV.
> sigh

Yeah it seems everyone completely ignored that tidbit about the reveal. You should see the IGN comments, so one-sided and full of spam about PS4 winning and XBox fans being destroyed.Which honestly, i find comical.
So if the PS4 already showcased their games, what is left for them to show aside from the boring details.Since the XBox will be showcasing just games mainly at E3, they will probably get much more support.
Side note:Just my opinion, but i highly doubt that kinect MUST always be on and functioning in order for the X1 to run. There is most likely a preference setting in console setting to have it on or off.Same goes with the always connected.I think that what they meant was it must always be connected to gain access to bonus features.Features like Halo 4 Spartan Ops, and the campaign/story will be available off-line.Games like Skyrim for example.
Humans have a bad tendency to overreact to everything when it has not been explained with absolutely perfect detail. Not to mention they must have it in their hands to believe and understand it further.

While that’s somewhat reassuring they really should’ve said that at the conference when it started. It’s not good to start off with a negative impression like this.
It’s still early in the next generation. It’s hard for me to picture that the gaming community will be butthurt for an entire decade straight…
EDIT
I posted this in another topic, but I’m going to copy and paste it in here.
"This has gotten out of control.
If there is a used game fee (which was never officially announced, but there probably will be), what’s the big deal? PC users have dealt with no used games for the past decade. Are console users really that spoiled that they feel compelled to go out and cause a ruckus about it? If you can’t afford a game, wait until it goes down in price, pay the used game fee, or don’t buy an Xbox One! The future of gaming is on the cloud and includes DRM. I’m sorry to tell you this, but you need to come to the realization. It wouldn’t surprise me if Sony announces a similar policy. If not this generation, it will only come within a matter of time.
While I think “connect every 24 hours” is a silly idea, you’re going to boycott the console for it? It’s to help against cheating and piracy, both of which should benefit us. If you can’t afford an internet connection, the Xbox One is not for you. If you do, what are you complaining about! The problem I have with it, is that you may not be able to access single-player without one. Once again, more information needs to be released until we have a full and complete picture. By the way, Steam has a system in-tact where if you don’t play for two weeks with internet, you are unable to play your games (single-player or not). Why don’t people complain about that?
Kinect 2.0 isn’t always listening. Microsoft announced there is a sort of stand-by mode where the console is off but the Kinect is sort of running. Then, there’s an option to turn off both devices completely. It’s amazing how paranoid some of you are. Is Big Brother going to spy on you playing some Call of Duty? Your phone has a camera that faces you, along with your laptop, tablet, and even some computers. Why do you still buy all of those devices? Maybe they’re looking at you too gasp. Once again, they haven’t even announced their policy regarding this.
This widespread bashing on the Xbox One just needs to stop. While I don’t like some of the features, I’m not going to hate on it and pledge my allegiance to Sony. Take a breather everyone, and do your own research. The funny thing is that most of these band-wagoners were the ones trashing on the PlayStation 3 when the Xbox 360 was still the “cool thing” and “real console”.
Oh, and I completely forgot to bring this up. Some of you act like it’s not a video game console at all… The reveal was to show of all the new hardware and features. E3 is where they will show off the games!!! Has the thought ever occurred to you that Microsoft is able handle providing hardcore gamers a real console while simultaneously giving the TV-lovers an entertainment system?"

Yeah. What it is is completely unknown, but Microsoft said not long after their Xbox One reveal that they intend to keep supporting the 360 for a few years after the One launches.

You don’t even need to wait until E3. I’m already sold by the current info page which lists AI improvements as almost the very first thing on the list of reasons why I should game on the Xbox One. That isn’t something you do if you’re just looking to snare fans of Farmville, it’s meaningful gameplay improvements [apparently] being built into the system as a whole. It’s just what hardcore gamers should be looking forward to with the next generation.
Of course it’ll depend on developer implementation but let’s just say that no one else is really looking into the core of what makes games worth playing.
> figured… people these days
What are you implying.
