IGN Phil Spencer on Halo Xbox One

Here’s a link to an interview with Phil Spencer on Halo Xbox One and Halo 2: Anniversary

Now people can stop -Yoinking!- about Halo2a since it is not being made or is in development atm

> Now people can stop -Yoinking!- about Halo2a since it is not being made or is in development atm

Not really even with this people will still keep begging and asking for H2A

Is this even part of the reclaimer saga then?

> Now people can stop -Yoinking!- about Halo2a since it is not being made or is in development atm

We could get a 20 year anniversary

Well they most certainly won’t get a 10 year anniversary

If anything this reassures that it most likely will happen, but just says they haven’t started on it yet.
Also when it comes to “Halo Xbox One” this article didn’t clear up anything, mainly because of Phil’s word choice, all it did was create more confusion and uncertainty. “what we showed wasn’t the game.” What was it then???

The interview blows. It didn’t really confirm anything.

Agreed. I’m even more confused. It seems like the smarter people try to sound when they talk the dumber it actually comes out

It’s Halo 2 Anniversary without a doubt.

I wonder if it’s Halo 5, since it’s the Reclaimer Saga, so there can be more games now. This could be a bridge game between main installments. It could also be Halo 5.

> It’s Halo 2 Anniversary without a doubt.

" I didn’t really want to try to show something that was clearly a thought piece by the studio around where Master Chief is in his journey, and then drop the name after it and be somewhat disingenuous about that being the game. But I did want Bonnie to come out and say, ‘First-person shooter. Master Chief"
After reading that quote I started thinking that it could be H2A, if i’m reading into it right then the game coming out in 2014 is centered around the Chief but isn’t set after Halo 4 which really only leaves a remake of H2 or some side story revolving around the Chief.

Perhaps. We must also take the fact into account that they can’t confirm Halo 2 Anniversary before they officially reveal it. It was the same with Halo: CE Anniversary.

I understand the trailer shouldn’t be taken as 100% canon or anything, but the trailer shows the Chief’s modified Mark VI. This kinda rules out the 2014 release as being H2A.

By the way has anyone ruled out the possibility of Halo: Xbox One being the T.V show that was talked about in the Xbox Reveal?

In the article he more or less says the trailer is in no way connected to the game, it’s more or less meant to say that there’s a Halo game coming but the story will not be related to what is seen in the trailer. Also after showing the trailer Bonnie said it’s going to be a 60fps Halo shooter running on dedicated servers so it’s definitely a game.

So does this mean that the events in the trailer, everything from his cloak to the location to the machine, and thus our speculation on it all, is all completely pointless and irrelevant?

I don’t think it’s irrelevant to the new trilogy but I think it’s irrelevant to the game coming in 2014 though.

That makes even less sense. Why would they have events and story elements from a future game in the trilogy, as that would imply, but not ones from the game they’re advertising, the closer release?

I know it doesn’t make any sense but that’s what i’m getting from this article. The trailer in a sense technically isn’t a trailer for a game in particular but simply a trailer to let us know Halo will be continued on the next gen and that the main story will be continued, but not in the 2014 game, that’s why I think they simply put “Halo” at the end of the trailer instead of “Halo 5”. That leaves a game featuring master chief but isn’t a continuation of the main story which would mean a remake or side story featuring chief.
