I feel that every video IGN makes with Halo 5 in it goes like: “Halo 5 doesn’t have (insert complaint here)! Playstation sells more than Xbox!”
Honestly, I feel like they’re making the community more whiny and cranky by fueling the hate. And to be honest, they don’t have all the facts in place.
For example. with the news that BTB is not gonna be available at launch (Cough! Warzone…), they were just like: “No BTB at launch! Sorry chumps, anyways! Playstation sells more than Xbox!” And they didn’t say that it would be launched a few weeks after… IGN? More like IGNorant…
That website is 90% intentionally created flamewars used to run up advertising revenue.
What are they supposed to do, omit any negative information?
Halo 5 doesn’t have splitscreen or BTB at launch. Those are just facts. They also hype up every other part of the game while stating those facts.

True, I just think those videos cause flame wars
Eyes are drawn more towards negative things than positive. People are talking about it so it’s obviously working.
They have reported on pretty much everything that Halo 5 has to offer. Halo not having split-screen and BTB is a big deal to the community and literally every other video game site I frequent has a story, video or combination of the two featured. They aren’t anti-Halo. They’re just reporting relevant stories about the game. Their headline about BTB even included a positive subheading:
"Don’t Expect to Play Big Team Battle in Halo 5 on Launch Day
That doesn’t mean there won’t be any large-scale battle options, however."
The actual article goes on to quote Josh Holmes positively describing the featured large scale playlist Warzone. The author of the article also makes it a point to state that BTB won’t be featured at launch. She does have her facts straight. You’re just seeking out negativity that isn’t present.
And the sales information about PS4 beating X1 is another story that I have seen on dozens of sites. They also had an article that focuses on how they believe Microsoft killed it at Gamescom. Several IGN writers have related this sentiment in their articles. That has nothing to do with an anti-Halo sentiment. Did you by chance read their article on the Halo franchise making $65 million last month? That isn’t pro-Halo, it’s just news.
Lastly, lol at the “IGNnorant” comment. I never understood the people that insist on perpetuating the usage of that term when they could just stop going to the website if they feel that it’s such a negative experience to visit it.
There are people that take IGN serious?
In recent years I have found both ign and game spots reviews dodgy and untrustworthy. Nowadays I just watch a unbiased youtuber for reviews
Do not bypass the profanity filter or post inappropriate comments.
IGN is a bunch of Playstation c*cksuckers
People still go to IGN?
Never listen to a -Yoink- thing they say. Why people take them serious is beyond me.
ign is a joke. They’re a gathering place for the console wars. I can’t take anything they say seriously.
Yeah every article I see on IGN, Destructoid, polygon, even Kotaku and even gameinformer has been really negative and really glossed over the positives.
Just irks me a little. Making truthful insights is a big part of game journalism - but they’re missing all the good truthful insights too.
Just looking for angry comments.
Every one of those articles has some dude with sanic as their DP going “Call of Halo…” - Clearly have never even played.
3/10 Too much water. -IGN
IGN and at other gaming journalism (and I use that term very loosely) use negativity and click bait titles to earn revenue. They know what they’re doing and they’re doing it on purpose just to make money. It’s shameless and horrible.

Not trying to be an IGN apologist but that quote is taken put of context so often it’s crazy. The full review mentions something along the lines of there being too many bland water levels. That little line was just a truncated and stylized version of what was said in the article. People that didn’t read the article and skipped to the highlights saw that and ran with it, lol.

*Wipes tear from eye
Well let’s just hope that Halo 5’s campaign is good enough to garner a 9.9/10 from Ign, to shut all the haters up.

Halo 4 got a 9.8/10 on IGN (wayyyy too lenient). Wtf are you smoking?

Actually the comments section on IGN is the most positive place I’ve seen regarding opinions on Halo 5.
