“You cannot pet any animals in Halo Infinite.” So much for my hopes of seeing Chief get into a boxing match with a herd of Halo kangaroos.

I’m curious to see how they will handle future games, stories, and content since there is mention of infinite being the last standalone release.

Oh God so it’s actually going to be a mystery what happened between Halo 5 and Infinite. Well, it’s only a few months now.

The last one is disturbing, says we might be stuck with this as a platform for 5-10 years. So PS2 graphics all the next gen… can we have another remake of the classics in that time?

I’m concerned about that last article. To what extent will the game change over the course of the next ~10 years? How will new stories be implemented into the game? What if the multiplayer doesn’t have the longevity that some other games like Rainbow Six Siege have and people want something new eventually? will they continuously change Halo Infinite’s multiplayer and gameplay over time and if so, what about those who like the gameplay style that was there at launch? Will there eventually be “Halo Infinite Classic” playlists for those people? What about graphics? Like them or not, is this the graphics we will have for the foreseeable future (with the exception of the ray tracing update)?

These are some of the biggest questions off the top of my head and there are plenty more. I’m really curious how they plan to carry out their vision for this game

  • CQS48 Bulldog - New UNSC riot shotgun that replaces the classic shotgun. This one is upgraded with a dum magazine and 12 gauge over the classic shotgun’s 8 gauge.

Complaint. Do they not realize that an 8 gauge shotgun is FAR more powerful than a 12 gauge? So how is this “upgraded”?

I share in these concerns

“When we jump into Halo Infinite later this year, we won’t get any sort of “Previously on Halo…” video summarizing the events of the past Halo game”

so this means they’re just dropping the Created storyline and conflict? I certainly hope not.

I don’t think that’s the case. They said that Chief and Brohammer are just as confused about the current situation as the player and that it will be a mystery to discover what happened between the two games and how they bridge together. I don’t believe that they just tossed Halo 5’s story out the window, but it may not lead directly into Halo Infinite. 343 did say though that fans who have kept up with the story this whole time will be able to tell how the games are connected so we’ll have to wait and see how exactly that plays out

My biggest concern is that it’s REPLACING the classic shotty. From what I and a few people could tell from the gameplay, it’s less powerful, but has a big clip size and fast reload with the drum-style magazine. Surely they’d keep the OG shotgun in as a more powerful variant with less spread/more range, at the cost of a smaller clip size and slower reload due to manually inserting each shell?

I think this seems likely, too. It’d be interesting if this was set in a post-Created conflict world, and what those ramifications could be.

Amazing that they’ll always say “too much lore” is a criticism they acknowledge yet never seem to admit that using the expanded universe as a garbage can to sweep away plot points they didn’t want to deal with or using a forum post to bring back a dead protagonist to make them evil seem to slip by.

Long time no see, mate. Good to see a familiar face still here after time away!

The “too much lore” criticism and its acknowledgment has been around for so long now. I think it’s an easier critique for 343i to embrace and market as a learning experience, rather than whatever actually happened creatively that led to a sub-par story decision.
