Yeah I was thinking could be that as well. “That’s your secret weapon Chief? Game over man. Game over.”
I like what I saw and heard.
Skirmishers!
My concern now is more story stuff.
Its hard to judge the difficulty 2, miranda wasn’t the best shot god bless her.
Wait, they added in the T’vaoan Kig-Yar!? Relit is my hope to see the Ibie’shan next to the Ruuhtian!
I’m imagining the new generation of Halo fans to mix up which ones are which of the Skimmers and Skirmishers
Why does that make me nostalgic?
Ign first footage 9:27 time I believe.
I think a small intimate narrative detail that would occur during a minor side quest will probably be much more appreciated by the likes of us on the forums than a journalist who’s only mildly invested in Halo.
So hopefully we’ll get more out the sidequests than she’s indicating she may.
CE and 2 had Rock solid Grunts… 3,4,5 ODST Reach - cannon fodder!
you struggled with grunts in Halo CE/2 because you were (presumably) much younger back, now if you go back you would just destroy them (they are pretty much cannon fodder in every Halo game)
Reach grunts were probably the most ridiculous (helmet being most obvious change) and even Halo 5 grunts I found to be annoying with their fuel rod cannons being so common.
Overall though grunts and jackals are always extremely easy, so where the differences lie is typically in the elites or some of the other species (skirmishers definitely made Reach more challenging in comparison I’d say with a lot of Halo games, for example)
I know that basing difficulty off of enemies by themselves doesn’t do the SP’s any justice, but its still one of the most impactful aspects of the difficulty in my opinion. Halo 2 on Legendary would’ve been like twice as easy without them Snipedown jackals everywhere, as another example.
Oh exactly - Jackals in H2 were annoying at the best of times but very feeble creatures. Same with the Grunts - but wielding the H2 plasma pistol made them a more mightier opponent than the latter grunts! If you didn’t clear them out before you attacked the Elites or Brutes your shield would vanish with a blink of an eye.
Or the insanely accurate rocket launcher flood. They were the cause of many setbacks in completing Legendary and Heroic in a decent time.
So you could actually say the cannon fodder in the first two games especially 2 were overly accurate and unpredictable.
I was so excited watching this video, looking forward to it!
