If you’re bad at the game why do you play ranked? And then sometimes leave leave because you are outclassed? Why not play social and become competent at the game instead of -Yoinking!- your teammates and causing us to loose.
Edit: sorry guys I was just mad and ranted. Trust me I do realize the system is flawed and people are outranked but I just hate it when people rage quit. Also it’s not that I’m playing with golds and they aren’t doing as good because I understand that but when you’re a onyx or high diamond going 4-16 then I can’t help but get mad. Clearly you were carried there or lost all skill in that match.
I’m not overly competeive but when I get that feel to play to win it just gets irritating and frustrating. I do apologise if I offended anyone I didn’t mean it to go that way I should of been more detailed with my explanation from the start.

People are outclassed because of the terrible matchmaking that has only gotten worse as the population has gotten smaller. Not everybody can be Onyx level. If that is what you want then what you want is a population of about 3000 or less. Onyx players should not be matched against golds but its happening. Because all the things that people have complained about have not been addressed , so people have left. If you expect players to sit in an un balanced match just to get slaughtered you are dreaming. If i’m the last player standing, I’ll quit. Ban me? i’ll go play Battlefield. The low population is now having its affect contrary to what people said would happen. Its only going to get worse. So have fun.
There are different rankings that allow for lower skills.
Despite this, I still get matched against players way out of my skill range. I usually tough it out, but if more than one teammate quits, why should I have to stick around for what was already a slaughter?

I try to practice in Social, but it’s recently felt like all the people who play ranked have moved into Social.
Ever since this conservation, I very, very rarely quit out of games:

I quit out of a bad CTF game.
Him: “Rage quit coward”
Me: "Sorry, I quit because I was doing nothing but die and was not helping you or the team in any way. I thought it’d be better if I just quit. : | "
Him: “wow, first time an answer is legit”.
Me: “It won’t happen again”.

So because new or unskilled players get matched with you they should all not be allowed to play ranked and can only play social? Maybe they are playing ranked to get used to how the maps flow in a match?

Well, there are lower ranks for a reason. Bronze isn’t just there for decoration. What you’re saying seems a bit unfair, honestly. I’m sure there are plenty of players that aren’t super competent at the game, but still like to be competitive. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to play the game how they like?

You don’t understand how the ranking system works. If you do “suck”, then you will be placed in the lower ranks. And if you’re highly skilled, you’ll be placed in the higher ranks. That way you should find that you get a competitive match.
The thing is, when you have 2 teams against each other, one has to win and one has to lose. I know it’s hard to accept, but that’s just the way it is. Sometimes your team will lose, and sometimes your teammates will go negative. Accepting facts like this is just part of the struggle of growing up.
It is frustrating when you’re trying to rank up. What really frustrated me when I was trying to rank up in SWAT was AFKs. What helped a lot was searching on expanded to increase the odds of playing with/against lower ranked players then recruiting the ones that performed exceptionally well for their rank to my fireteam.
As a low end player, I’m lucky if I can get to platinum, I feel like Social is a lot harder than Ranked play is. I run a far smaller chance of running into a top tier player in a ranked game than I do in a game of BTB. To me, the “Social” playlists have gotten so ridiculous I never play them anymore.
Sometimes people have bad games. Also, that whole “stick to social” thing needs to go both ways. I run into more sweaties in social than I do in ranked. In ranked, I can play with people near or around my skill level. In social, I’m running into all those super pro bros wanting to wreck noobs in their “warm up matches”. They want to clean house without worrying about tarnishing their rank or their precious pointless KD if they need to bail and quit, so they hop in their and go to town.

Yeah, people seem to have a misconception of what social means. It doesn’t mean that we’ll always get an easy game, and I don’t understand why people would think this. Both teams are trying to win, it’s not like they take turns to kill each other in an orderly fashion.
The way I understand it, social is just a mode where you can play and have fun, without worrying about rank or stats. But that doesn’t mean the enemy team are just going to roll over and die lol.

This is one concept I never understood. Whatever rank one might be you can never have a bad game? Give them some slack, and move onto the next game.
Everyone knows once you’re firmly set within a rank one bad game here or there is not the end of the world. Don’t blame others for -Yoink- games take responsibility and move on.

actually champion is onyx but just the top 200 onyxs. Its not actually a separate rank.
Perhaps some people are tired of the casual scene and want to try to play competitively? Or perhaps they suck but are attempting to better their skills? Nobody’s gonna (I hate the fact that I’m gonna say this) get good unless they continually play the things they suck at so they can get better. It’s the circle of competitive gaming, man. Can’t stop it.

I have games where I go 4-16 regularly. But I also have games where I go 16-4. You can’t judge someone based off one game, it depends on so many other factors. Who you’re up against, which map, what spawns, do you have mics, are you focused etc etc.
When a horse wins a race, it can win by just the length of it’s nose. A photo finish. But it still wins and gets the prize money. Think of a Halo pistol encounter - you duel the enemy 1 on 1 and miss a single shot, they land all theirs and get a perfect kill, they get the point, whereas you may get an assist if you’re lucky(which doesn’t count for score). Your team are now left 3 on 4 while you respawn, which can allow the enemy to get power weapons and map control. You respawn with your pistol, get sniped or hit with rockets. You’re now 0-2, and it can snowball.
Everyone has games like this from time to time, and it doesn’t mean you’re a bad player. It can just mean that you made a few small mistakes and now are in a bad position. When I’m like this, I try to change things up, stick close to my team, work out what’s going wrong.
The only way to get quality teammates is to play with the same people regularly. You’ll soon get to know what each of you are good at, and get better at working together. But if you expect to always get a good teammate when you play solo… no chance. You’re leaving it all to luck.
Lastly - try to remember that nobody wants to have a terrible game. Sometimes it just happens, despite your best efforts. I’ve been on -1 kills and 10 deaths before, 5 minutes into the match. It sucks when it happens, but you never know you might turn it around.
