Is there any counter when someone boards your vehicle? There’s nothing more annoying than a spartan coming out of nowhere and jumping on my brand new tank. I mash the x button but can’t get out for some unfathomable reason. Then moments later my tank is destroyed.
If I see them coming, I can reverse and splatter them. If they’re to the side, I can usually shoot them. But sometimes they come out of nowhere. So, once on board, is there any way to counter this?

Once boarded the only thing I am aware of is for a teammate to shoot them off. Prevention is the best medicine here.
Can’t get out of a boarded vehicle.
You used to be able to mortar a boarder off the front of the wraith, but that doesn’t work for me anymore.

I am pretty sure I have seen fools jump out of wraiths, I know because I have then boarded the vehicle. Maybe you cannot jump out once s grenade is placed, but if you are being meleed you can probably jump out.

That was the go-to method in Halo:Reach.
Usually I just try to shoot a wall and kill us both, or I call in a teammate to get them off me.

It was one of reach’s additions I actually liked. As opposed to having to sacrifice your own vehicle up the way I used to in 3.

And now in 5 again since boarders are invincible to damage by the driver (I’ve tried mortaring people off my Wraith and nothing doing)

If someone has boarded you it actually locks you in, no matter what.

This is what i was going to say. If possible and a wall is near enough go and fire at the wall in a wraith. Ive survived a few times doing that but most of the time there isnt a wall close enough. Last resort thing i try to go as fast as i can to teammates so they don’t let them keep the vehicle at least they die.
I can tell you what not to do: Flail your steering wheel and shout," I’M BEING JACKED. SOMEONE DO SOMETHING. DO SOMETHING YOU LAZY PIECES OF GARBAGE!!!" and then proceed to quit.
Instead calmly stop moving the vehicle and tell your teammates your being boarded and hope they’re decent shots.
There’s nothing you can do unfortunately. You used to be able to shoot people off with the wraith and sometimes a scorpion if you were next to a wall. You can’t do that anymore. I’ve pushed someone into a barricade on Noctus before I got boarded, shot of three scorpion rounds, then get boarded and died. Three point blank shots from a scorpion didn’t do anything. So annoying.

Whenever I see a friendly scorpion or wraith without a gunner I try to stay as close as I can to give them a chance against boarders. Most times I’ve been able to kill boarders before they plant a grenade but sometimes the driver panics and makes it more difficult for me or teammates to get the enemy off them.

EMP disable electrical systems. That includes weapons systems as well as mobility systems. Why would expect to be able to fire when stunned?
You’re hosed. Teammate can shoot them off, or if you’re close to a wall you can blast them of from area damage. That’s it, and that’s how it should be.
Back in the day in the wraith you could usethe booster to quickly drive against a wall and the splash would kill the boarder, doesnt work anymore though

Drive at the nearest cliff ASAP. Funny when someone boards my warthog in the back or side, I just drive off a cliff but exit and thruster back onto the ledge and watch them die in my hog. I’m just like “keep the change you filthy animal” then turn around and put on my sunglasses.
