Would you go for form of function? Like the tow hooks and wench on the front. Would you want real tow hooks and wench that functions or would you make the hooks that look like the hooks on the warthog and just wrap some cable around a spool to look like a wench. Sure one way would work if needed but the other would look more authentic. I ask because I am going to attempt to make my '79 CJ into a warthog. I am leaning more towards function over form especially since my interior will be more CJ than warthog.
So long the looks are close enough to be distinguishable, I believe people appreciate a functional item more. I remember the Halo motorcycle helmet which looked great but was an awful wear so it really didn’t do well at all in sales. That’s only one metric of success to go by however, so you may have to ask yourself want you want out of your own craft for the best answer to be honest.
Either way it sound like a sick project so I wish you best of luck with it and cant wait to hear the updates!

Thanks, yeah it’s going to be tough but just started the tear down so have plenty of time to decide. Not to mention the other stuff needs work like the brakes and what not. But I found some good pictures on line of other people who have built them so I have some what if a guide.
It would be great if someone made a basic functional warthog at least, because you can’t match the technology of a halo warthog.

Every projects gotta start somewhere and sounds like you have a pretty good roadmap. I’m sure you’ll get it done.
I would go with function over form.
