One big difference here. MCC’s silly armor could be earned in game

Another big difference is that when MCC added those armors, they changed the original game(s). In the spirit of The MCC, 343 wanted to honor the legacy of those games, so they added a toggle so players could chose to experience the original game (similar to switching between old and remastered graphics). We didn’t get a toggle in Reach (MCC version) to remove any of the silly stuff originally released in that game. What we have now is the original infinite.

Wait. You’re telling me that this toggle in MCC that some people (not @S47MligTruth , because he did say “new armor”) are hyping up did not even remove the silly stuff that they are complaining about. Wow. They’re really out here making it sound like this feature took away all armor/death effects, skull helmets, and katanas out.

If that’s the case, then overall you support cosmetics that fits entirely in the world. Then ill counter that back with the current multiplayer lore.

The current lore is that we are Spartan IVs. And as constantly stated, Spartan IVs have the tendency to express themselves no matter what it is that can compliment our own personality. So I support whatever flower or ear or color a Spartan becomes, and can be explained in lore.

In gameplay form, Halo is all about gameplay, complimented by cosmetic progression. Unless those cosmetics affect gameplay, then there is a problem. For example, kill affects hurting a player’s eye. If that is actually true, a toggle is fine. But if you just don’t want to see a hologram then its just a you problem. One thing I will be against in cosmetics is emotes. That WILL affect gameplay if they add that in.

Nevertheless, Halo’s cosmetic customization needs to expand. They already added many heavy weight looking armors in the Rakshasha or Eaglestrike and Yoroi that don’t for the world. But do dare they add a Spring theme with the already-in-game-christmas theme cosmetics because they don’t fit the world. Just as long as they don’t overdo it is fine. But if they are going off of real world events, its fine.

I think, the way to do this is like ODSTs personalisation, like Mickeys armour. Not cat ears, not glowing whatever…

Ultimately, the people who buy cosmetics won’t even know if a majority of the population has the toggle active or not and unless 343 made a big deal out of it then I doubt many would care.

I seriously see zero issue with a toggle. And given that most people who are fine with the cat ears are fine with nearly everything else and those who want it are not, there’s no reason not to include them in a censoring toggle.

Yes, I know lots of people that also left because of those issues too but what I’m saying is things like that (seeing ridiculous cosmetics) can put it over the top for some people. For some people they can handle game breaking bugs (to a point obviously) and all that but if they don’t like the way it looks they’re not going to play. That’s all I’m saying.

But how much customization can you go off with the inspiration of Mickey? If anything, majority of his armor pieces are already in the game. The only thing that aren’t there is the lowered shoulder piece and the bullet belt on his leg. There is no innovation after that beside replacing bullet belt with a radar or something?

Disliking glowing armor or effects isn’t even bad. Even the UNSC are researching forerunner architect to become weaponry. Why not accept that evolving instead of living with the same military grenade belt we get like… every Halo game before?
