Be that as it may, does it truly bother you this much that it turns you off the game? I don’t think it’s really a game ender.

They’ve also set a precedent of doing something similar with MCC.
So why nit? The only reason to not do it would be to outwardly say that they’re specifically satiating trolls and attention seekers.
I like Halo’s scifi military design, not neon-glow party barbie soldier.
Just seems like another step into the direction of targeting the audience that isn’t their core.

To be honest, Infinite is pretty tame. Though we have some silly things, the art style isn’t all over the place (even on the Fracture cores). Games like Rainbow Six Siege and Splitgate have it way worse. RSS just had their own “Fracture” and from what I could tell, the only guns visible were at the bottom of the image. In Halo’s, you can almost always see something, an AR, Commando, Grapple, Sidekick, Energy Sword, or something.
In Splitgate, not only do they also pay for colors, they have animated coatings, entire armor sets (which can’t be customized) dedicated to something. For example, there’s a women with bunny ears or a candy cane. It doesn’t have “one art style”.

And we’d like it to be possibly even tamer whilst also allowing people who love that stuff to enjoy it as the cosmetics will no doubt get wackier as the years go on.

Jokes aside, this is not only a little goofy but also a little dumb. I don’t know the reasoning for that. A lot of speculations say that the yappening stuff was originally designed for Easter. But it never came to fruition. So they decided to basically “copy and paste” all the Easter stuff and put it in the yappening. I don’t like how it’s a grunt inspired event but literally features zero grunt inspired items. If anything they should’ve postponed that stuff and saved it for next Easter, then made grunt inspired items FOR A GRUNT INSPIRED EVENT!!!
Halo 5’s yappening introduced the grunt mech for war zone, along with a grunt inspired emblem.
Halo mcc’s yappening only gave us emblems and nothing more.
Halo infinites yappening cosmetics on the other hand it’s completely out of place. The only grunt inspired gear I ever saw where sold in shop for S1.

Im part of the Destiny community too… the thing is time and place. Its part of the story of Destiny for that. Its not in Halo. I don’t come to Halo for that kind of jazz.
Halo doesn’t need to bandwagon other trends all the time. Hasn’t been doing the series any good.

There is not the grunt party kill effect? I saw that in a leak but no idea when we will see it. Maybe it will be in the shop.

Who would of thought the community that pushed for a complete change in art style would want to maintain it! Total shocker.
Not to mention, also the same community that demanded a toggle for MCC. It’s almost like it’s important to Halo fans and it’s silly to compare them to other communities.
Especially like Siege or COD who certainly do complain about the wild and whacky cosmetics.

Splitgate has some questionable character skins like the cactus but there isn’t any with bunny ears. Candy cane was a BFB skin that was released briefly during Xmas and has a matching recolour of Bard, who is wearing headphones.
Some of the weapon skins are quite fun. There is one for assault rifle that looks a bit like a Super Soaker. I have a sniper skin that looks like it belongs in Quake, being made out of lava. I have a lot of animated weapon skins and they really stand out in the lobby, but find a lot of them quite distracting to use.
