Absolutely not. It’s not worth having different weapons as it destroys any consistency you build between matches. I hated h5 with 5+ different weapons for swat. Hate in h3 mcc how there’s 3 weapons now.
That said - I had fun playing all the various types of swat except sidekicks. Still convinced sidekick has a way to be full auto spammed based on a weird audio noise that happens sometimes with spamming people.
Other weapons have not had that in my experience, maybe just an audio bug though.
Would be nice to have those types, maybe things like swatguns, swat flag, etc to be in another playlist. Really BR swat should be a ranked playlist and then have a social playlist with everything else swat related.
I like the variety. With the exception of Sidekicks on Behemoth, I like how each different loadout plays a little differently. Plus I like how the single shot weapons, as opposed to the BR’s burst, reduce the effectiveness of the sweep-and-shoot technique.
I enjoy the variety. People get too campy with the BR and try to cross map everyone which is perfectly fine, but other weapons kind of force you to be a bit more aggressive which changes the flow of swat. Keeps it from feeling samey every match.
As of right now I’d say I strongly dislike the weapon additions. I primarily play tactical slayer for the BR matches which are very difficult to get now. I think I’d enjoy the weapon variants a little more if they didn’t happen like 90% of the time. Previous halo games had the option to vote on the map/gamemode before the match, that’d be cool to see again but now I’m just dreaming…
i quite like the additional weapons. it’s refreshing from just the BR… THAT BEING SAID… could i please select the modes i want? like, i love the commando and br varrients… but i don’t want to go on a six game spree of manglers and sidekicks
I don’t really like the sidekick, in my opinion the Halo 5 magnum or even the Halo CE magnum were better weapons. Be it close range, mid range or wide range, the aiming of the sidekick feels a bit off. And I personally find most of the cross hairs in Infinite a bit too small.
I don’t like swat at all; but when I played a few rounds for a challenge it was a nice change of pace. That being said I imagine the hardcore swat guys probably meant a dedicated “classic” only and I don’t blame them. Swat wasn’t for me and I don’t want it catered to me when even with the new variants I don’t care for it when people passionate about it are having it watered down.
I think the reason most people seem to prefer the BR (beside it being the BR) is that it’s the only one of these guns that seems to have been fine-tuned to perfection.
The Sidekick has bloom and sometimes devolves into a spam-off.
The Stalker Rifle feels like the bullet does go where you aim.
Mangler really shows how bad desync can be because you can see the bullet coming.
The Commando is a gun f’d up beyond belief and feels horrible to use. Especially in a 1-shot mode.
I really don’t like the new additions into the tactical slayer playlist, they just prevent me from playing what I actually want to play (BR matches). I’m a sweaty SWAT lad and I’ve been stripped of my beloved BR. 343 should just put the new weapon modes into a separate playlist. If they had their own playlist my feeling would be much more positive.
The mangler and stalker rifles are so good. I hated battle rifle gamemode because all the players would have pinpoint accuracy. However the stalker rifle and mangler require a bit more skill to use (since stalker is a bit iffy when not scoped in, and mangler has projectile travel time and drop-off]. which makes it much more exciting since you dont feel like you died to complete nonsense.
