Player count. Know what that is? some older games whether they are better or not, just don’t have the player count to keep the games coming faster. I believe halo 3 is the best halo game that’s ever been released but I don’t go play it because the player count isn’t high enough. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy halo 5 because I do. Theres more problems now then there were at launch imo but its still a solid game and I will continue to play it.
If MCC’s matchmaking worked reliably, I would gladly spend my time there. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t play Halo 5 either. I think I have 8 matchmaking games under my belt. That’s about all I could handle before getting completely bored with it. Forge is good though. I think I’ve spent more time in Halo 5’s forge than anything. It’s odd though. I like making maps, but I have no desire to even play them in H5.
Your assuming the people complaining still play Halo 5. There is a difference between playing Halo 5 and posting on the forums.
People post here because they want to change the future of Halo games, or change the minds of other people. There’s nothing inherently wrong with either.
I love me some Halo 5. I love me some Halo 4. I love me some Halo Reach. I love me some Halo 3. I love me some Halo 2. And I love me some Halo CE. And unless you’re like me and love them all, you’re probably going to be all picky and bicker over which is best (CE) and which is worst (Reach).
… what are we talking about? Oh yeah, a few things:
OP has a point about one thing: We have all the games on the same console now. All of them with multiplayer. Say what you will about 343 and Microsoft, but with the MCC (in its current state) and the Backwards Compatibility Team over at Xbox, they’ve made this possible. Which is pretty awesome if you think about it.
Here’s the kicker and where xDark Aegisx is absolutely correct: due to the launch of the MCC and the year it took to mostly fix, the population is such that getting to play three matches of CE in the 4v4 playlist can take hours of waiting and restarting searches. And I’m not exaggerating.
To OP: the people who prefer the older games want the newer game to play like the older games so they can play new games that play like the games they like without having to play the same game for over a decade even though to you and I it would feel like the same game because of the minimal changes so we’d probably consider is a lazy re-skin.

Just one correction and it’s minor, but ODST did not have Firefight so they don’t all have multiplayer. I tried Reach when it first became available. I was really looking forward to it, but the games were just so laggy and bad framerate it became very unenjoyable.
I play Halo 5 everyday. Like you I just love Halo. I still have criticism about the game, and disappointments regarding it. I’m not going to quit playing or quit voice my opinion.

Exactly thank you atleast someone knows what the hell there talking about… You…you are the coolest guy i met wangtimeeee
The forums are for complaining. People don’t just go play old games because they are dead. We want the games to go in the right direction, so we talk about the newest game that’s out. Kissing 343’s -Yoink- doesn’t do anything constructive, if you enjoy the game so much, go back to playing it and stop posting here.

that’s such bs. Why would a TRUE halo fan stick to a game that hardly feels like halo to them? Even if it is a halo game and you are a diehard fan, does that mean you’ll like it? No. It doesn’t

I hate the Star Wars prequels. Does that mean I’m not a Star Wars fan? I have two Boba Fett figures, mind you. TWO!!! And Slave One.
lol
There’s no such thing as a “true” Halo fan. We’re all Halo fans.

Sticking to Halo is one thing, playing a game one does not enjoy is another…
blindly accepting whatever a dev does even if you don’t like it but only because it has a certain name on the cover does not make you a fan, it makes you a mindless sheep…

I wish more people would see this. Then we’d have enough people with a mental compatense more than a 4th grader and be able to have enough minds to speak and therefore possibly get the changes we want
We can’t play the old Halo games because on Xbox One (as most of us have bought by now and sold the 360’s) the game Halo MCC is broken. The features which were once not broken have now been messed up and 343 has abandoned the game and refuses to fix said features. So we either play a broken game (Halo 5: Guardians) or a broken game (any previously-made Halo they’ve touched) so you tell me, which is the lesser of two evils?
