If you have whined about ANYTHING, READ THIS!

If you haven’t played the game, you can’t judge, it’s as simple as that. Anyone who complains about a food that they’ve seen and heard about but not actually eaten doesn’t have a right to complain about the food do they?
I get it, change is scary! But guess what?! It was gonna happen anyway! If they had kept it the same as Reach or 3 you guys would still be whining! The best games always have something that isn’t so good, i could name a few things from each Halo.

In conclusion, if you haven’t played it, you can’t complain

So I can’t judge the way something looks?

Of course you can, but looks are subjective. They mean nothing

And the cycle continues.

Whiners that whine about people who whine about whiners.

The forums are.made for judging and giving feedback. It would be silly to not say anything just because we didn’t play it.

If so, then everyone should just silence themselves, because the majority didn’t play it.

Please think before you post for your own selfish reasons.

Although I do agree that whining does not solve anything and that it is very annoying, I disagree with your logic. If you haven’t played the game then you can’t judge. That is like being in court for a murder and saying you were not at the crime scene, you can’t judge. When in reality this is so far from the truth. Indeed witnesses are important to a case, but a lot can come from evidence. Evidence is physical but it is also based mainly on sight, what you see. Blood spatter, broken glass, fibers from clothing. I hope we can agree this is something you can SEE. From what is seen in the evidence a verdict is made. People “judge” what they have seen and not what they have experienced.

Your logic is invalid.

I dislike the aesthetics of the new Covenant species; are you saying I can’t judge them because I’ve never played Halo 4 yet even though I know perfectly well what the new Covies look like after looking at all those renders and screenshots?

So, let me get this straight, because the amount of topics I see like this is making me increasingly annoyed.

You think that just because I have not played Halo 4, I can’t watch the videos of its gameplay that’ve been released, mentally compile a list of pros and cons in my head from those and the information that 343 itself has released and confirmed about this game, and then make a judgement based on what the game’s creators have shown and told me about the game compared against what has been released and proven to work or not work in previous titles?

I’m sorry, but that’s about the most ignorant thing I’ve heard here in a while.

ALSO, what say you to the people who have played it? At E3 and PAX? Hmm?

If you haven’t played the game, you can’t praise it. See what I did there?

It’s funny how most people here haven’t played it, but they can praise 343 and call out the complainers all the time.

No

I can criticize whatever aspect of the game I want to. This forum is meant for discussion.

Theres a difference between whining and constructive critisism. From whats been released about multiplayer people can make a good judging of multiplayer mechanics with feedback from people that have played it and their own experiance as Halo players. Critisism is fine and valid as long as its constructive and gives good reasoning as to why you think what you do.

“forum”
Noun: A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

Just sayin…

Hasn’t played the game: “This game looks great!”
Hasn’t played the game: “This game doesn’t look good.”

What’s the difference?

Absolutely nothing. Neither have played the game and are both making subjective observations based on their opinions and experiences in the past. Both have equal merit, and both will always have equal merit–even after the game releases.

And the forums are for discussion. If there were nothing but praise, nothing would be changed.

I always thought that forums were for discussion and criticism.

Can we judge the lack of a classic control scheme?

Can a mod ban this kid for attacking people who have a right to their own views already? this has nothing to do with Halo 4 just attacking other members of the forums. thanks bye

Uh…no?

Well, in the whiners’ defense you can make educated guesses about something based on observation, but as time has proven again and again educated guesses can be wrong.

> If you haven’t played the game, you can’t judge, it’s as simple as that. Anyone who complains about a food that they’ve seen and heard about but not actually eaten doesn’t have a right to complain about the food do they?

No, but if I’ve already tried all the ingredients before and I have a brain then I can start to make some educated guesses on whether I will like a new recipe.

My complaints about changes:

My complaints about lack of changes:

-red Zealot
-Covies still seem to behave the same
-FoV still the same as in Reach (of course it might have changed in the new build. Also, at least it’s not like in Halo 2 or Halo 3)

My worries:

-how concussion rifle will work
-how Wraith will work
-how sidearm weapons will work in the campaign
-if it will take me a dozen melees to move a supply case across a room
-if skulls will be focusing primarily on difficulty as in Halo 3/ODST/Reach, will be absurdly unbalanced (CEA), or will have a balanced set (Halo 2)
-if Halo 4 campaign will work with all playing styles (i.e. stealth, assassination, cqc), and not just the speedrunners and the gods
