If you have time...

343, I would really like an option for third person view. Since Halo 3 theater, watching over my spartan’s shoulder, I’ve wished that there was an option to be in third person. Of course, this wouldn’t be in multiplayer. Just Campaign, Customs, and maybe Spec Ops. In Campaign it could be like a skull, in Spec Ops it could be an option in the start menu, and in customs it could just be an option for the gametype. I think this would be a great additon to the game. Of course, there would be tweaking issues, like making the reticle smaller, stuff like that. So I would just ask 343 that if they have time, and they are thinking of other cool features to add, please make a third person view option.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. You could even have it as its own playlist, but I like to play my Halo in first person.

Ya, I just think it would be a cool option. I always like watching theater in third person so I can see my spartan. First person is a way better experience, I just think it would be cool.

I wouldn’t keep any sort of hopes like that up. Halo is a first person shooter

Yep, a lot of first person shooters have playlists and options that allow for third person. I don’t see why it would be such an issue to add an option. It wouldn’t be in matchmaking, just customs, maybe campaign and spartan ops.

Just…I just don’t see any point in it to be honest. Of course, you are entitled to your opinions but to me it feels…useless

The point would be to let people have the ability to not be crammed into first person in every mode of the game. I think first person is far superior, I would just like to be in third person once in a while. It’s like having subtitles, you can completely hear the game, you don’t really need them, but it’s a good addition.

I don’t think its a terrible idea but IMO, Im not a fan of 3rd person even though I like Assassins Creed ( Somewhat ). 99.9% chance we won’t see it in Halo 4 because right now there probably working there butts off finishing final product and polishing it.

I’m not as much of a TPS fan than I am of an FPS fan. But there are some advantages to third person like you said…but in a game like Halo, I don’t see it being included. It would be quite good for custom games but it’s not consecutive

So here is my final answer: I will not be affected if they decide to include any form of TPS mode in the game. I just so happen to find it dull in a game like Halo. And I would only use it to see more scenery. Which in turn could be good for machinima

Nope. Halo is a first person shooter. I can see why you want it, but still, Halo is and should remain a first person shooter.

PS: Why can’t people use polls with just a simple ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ answer, it gives a more accurate result.

First, there should be a options to make as many people happy as possible. Second, giving more options in the polls allows people to accurately show their opinion. Say I think yes, but want to clarify that I only want TP in if the team has time, therefore I choose the if they have time option.

I would love it. I dont play much custom game so I wouldnt use it there. It would be fun for War Games occasionaly in its own playlist were everyones third person. But I dont think I would use it in campaign, I know what Chief looks like not to mention cut scenes, I wanna see my spartan. It would be a cool skull though maybe call it Out of Body Experience.

If they have time. I’m indifferent on it, but if it was an addition I would at least try it out.

There’s no need for the excess answers in this poll.

They’re not excess answers. There’s an option if you disagree, an option if you are in-between, an option if you agree, and an option if you agree but it’s a low priority. Like the guy said, they allow people to more accurately show their opinion.

Halo is and will remain a first person shooter, regardless of if you can play in third person for custom games etc. There is no downside to having the option. In fact it can help draw in players from the third person shooter crowd.

The question; “If they have time, would you like 343i to add third person…”. And one of the answers is ‘If they have time’. Now that should NOT be there, because it’s already included in the question.

The other answer is ‘Ehh’. How can you be in between on this matter? If you don’t mind, you click ‘Yes’, if you like it, you click ‘Yes’, if you dislike it, you click ‘No’. They’re all possible outcomes in two answers.
