If you have the game already, ANSWER THIS.

Let’s end this once and for all.

Since 99% of the complaints are from people who have never actually touched the game, this question is for anybody who played it enought to judge :

What are your thoughts on the game ?

Give us a mature review. I want to hear it from competitives AND casuals.
I want opinions about campaign AND Multiplayer. (needless to say to stay away from spoilers for god’s sake!)

Again, please be mature. Leave the hate behind and describe the game like your first halo to a person who never heard abbout it.

Nobody ?

Everyone is to busy playing I guess.

Everyone is to busy playing I guess.

So that means the game is not bad… if it were bad, nobody would be playing :]

Well I have only played a few games of war games and no campaign so I can only give initial thoughts about the game. Firstly, I noticed that there does not seem to be much auto aim and the base mechanics (Aiming, movement, shooting etc) seem to have a fairly decent skill gap. Secondly, I can safely say that strafing works again and you can strafe the DMR’s fire successfully. Thirdly, sprint is very fluid and seems very natural. Lastly, the sandbox is surprisingly balanced and all of the armour abilities have their niche (hologram actually works this time).

If I had to give some scores for multiplayer out of 10.

Connection/Net code: 10/10 (Did not have a single problem so far and the connection was perfect)
Graphics: 10/10 (Obviously pushing the 360 to the limit)
Gameplay: 9/10 (Overall excellent however some moments felt “random”)

If you aren’t a big fan of the extended universe, you may get a little lost with the campaign.

I love the Halo cannon. I simply have not had the time to play campaign yet  (I wish to do it in one sitting)

you’re never going to get a reply from a casual because casuals don’t visit game forums.

> you’re never going to get a reply from a casual because casuals don’t visit game forums.

I know some that actually do.

What I believe to be the definitions of casual and competitive.

Casual: Someone who plays a game for fun and usually cares very little about the outcome of the game.

Competitive: Someone who plays a game to win and improve their skill level. They also analyse gameplay and understand the advanced mechanics of the game.

Casual side:

As a hardcore player I like to play MLG,snipers and FFA. I always hated Infection and “fun stuff”.

Now say that i actually find Flood really fun and love the new aspects of the game.

Competitive side: Very fast paced, even though maps are quite big. shooting and strafing play a big part of the game.

The team shooting is very important because you can kill very fast.

Even though its a five shot the pace of the game is so fast it feels like a like a four shot.

Weapons in the game feel very balanced. People say some weapons are over powered like saw. However its a power weapon of course it has to be powerful that’s like complain about rockets saying they ate too powerful when they are a power weapon.

Be vs dmr : personally they are balanced and a person who likes the BR will play with the BR. In some cases due to the map size DMR is a better weapon but that’s what it is used for. +long range.

Game feels very smooth and the Sharp sounds and new music make it feel so refreshing but still the halo we know.

On a person all dislike just more maps and more playlist which is expected to come soon anyways.

Btw only you can judge a game for it self but remember if the judgement is to how it should be then your judgement has no value.

I can tell you that the campaign is full of holes and that you can easily get out of maps. You can do the 4 or 3 player coop glitch as in halo reach and halo 3. The campaign is really easy even when played on legendary. AI tends to throw a lot of grenades and the AI sometimes get stuck when driving banshees. The warthog sounds really different than in other halos. the needler is way better than in reach. The story is nothing Bungie would have made. The graphics are really good at most points, though some minor cutscenes look really bad (compared to the rest, in my opinion) Looks like some people at 343 did their job, others, well… they just sat there doing nothing.

Like Reach but enhanced. With more features borrowed from CoD tacked on. No visible ranking system. It will be fun for a month or 2 but no longevity with just a progression system and no visible IN-GAME (not csr) ranking system coming. Not enough playlist variety, not enough options (especially for classic style gameplay, ctf, oddball, etc.). I see it playing out like Reach online population wise, everyone on here will flame but it’s true.

then he must have some passion or more hardcore interest for the game so he isn’t a casual.

I can already tell you haven’t played the game yet. Just becuase a game borrows a feature from nearly all modern games, doesn’t mean it will be implemented like it is in other games.

EDIT: I haven’t played the game, but all you have to do is watch some gameplay to see the differences…

It may be different but it’s still the same in a sense. It’s obviously no coincidence Halo’s main competitor had these features and now all of a sudden we do. Different or not they are still very similar in the aspects of the features just that CoD’s base gameplay and Halo’s base gameplay are very different.

Where I live the game is already released.

I thought the campaign had too many check points. Get to a check point, press a button, get to the next check point press a button. It’s deffinitly more linear than other Halo games. Feels like the sandbox is smaller.

The story is not what I expected. It’s very Master Chief and Cortana driven. I did enjoy it though. They have increased the difficulty. I was playing on Heroic and it was challenging for the most part.

I played 5 games of multiplayer recently and I have to say I enjoy it a lot. It feels like they went back to the roots of Halo multiplayer and the new things they added only makes the experience richer.

If you like Halo you should pick this game up and if you don’t have money for halo 4 you should sell your car or sell your house because this game is amazing.
