If you have a job you can afford the armour pass.
However if you have a job you don’t have time to rank all the way up with the slowest ranking system known to man.

Alright, 1000$ base games. Come on you have a job, you can afford it. Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean it’s price matches the real value.
Funnily enough I don’t work for the sole purpose of lapping up the overpriced trash cosmetics that 343 think are what the community want. If that was the case my wages would just be straight up paid into 343s account.
The store prices are pretty abysmal. I won’t even spend 5$ on this bs. Nothing is worth the cost to begin with, it’s all ugly or very limited to something… or they don’t offer enough. They expect me to pay 20$ for lousy crap, that 20$ is 1 hour and 15 minutes of my time at work. I rather spend my $ on my wife, kids or some really good tacos.
Gears of war 3 had buyable skins for characters and the weapons. They were 1.99$. What 343 is doing is pure greed with microsoft caressing whispering sweet nothings into the ear about how good they are doing.
I went up 2 or 3 levels in a brief session today… without even trying.
It’s not that slow.
That’s right!
I can’t spend 1000 on Halo alone you know! I have like, 5 Gacha games with waifus to spend on! /s
But seriously though, any game which requires you to spend 10 - 20 bucks in a single purchase is downright wrong, but it’s become such a modern norm that people actually defend it, it stinks.
In my country, 20 bucks can buy me enough meals for a week, if I’m buying every meal.
I’m almost level 75 in the battle pass and haven’t used any double exp. I work full time and spend 3 hours a day with my son before he goes to sleep. Don’t play every day but I’ve already made huge strides with it.
Realistically you can level up once a day playing 6 games of Bot Bootcamp which takes like 30 minutes usually. If you do your weekly challenges ~5 hours per week that’s another 5ish levels. So technically you can play about 8 hours per week and level up 12 times if you are really maximising your levelling. Or just like relax and go at whatever pace you’re going at, it doesn’t expire.
I would like to see the prices in the store be lower, but i do see the value of I really like something as I’ll be using it for potentially years to come. I’ve got the Clonely Bear attachment which may seem excessive at $15 but I’m going to be wearing that for my entire Halo Infinite lifespan. I can only hope they make it one day so I can use it on all cores as I’m using Mark 7 for Zeta Sky anyway but I also love how my Mark V Spartan looks.
i do miss the gears3 monetization system… single skins for a couple bucks. complete skin collection for 60 iirc and was even discounted (i think half off) during holiday season. several skins only achievable through grinding and achievements… but unforunately gears also dropped the ball hard after part 3
See you’re saying that when the battle pass is permanent and will never go away.
‘‘it says it ends in [this many days] though!’’ Yes, that’s when this season ends and the next begins, but the battle pass persists for you to level up.
They’ve said this.
Multiple times.
According to Sodium_Bath. The first thing is the exchange system. For example, in the EU 10 euro is not 10 dollars. 10 euro is 11.31 dollar so the products in the store are even more expensive.
Also say that I do not know how much 20 dollars are in the US. Maybe there is what a handful of jelly beans are worth but it is not the situation in most of the world where for that price you can buy food for many days. I know that Microsoft are not “the sisters of charity” but you must understand that YOUR world is not ALL of the world.
You don’t even need a job to put together $60 bucks. People really out here saying they can’t even afford $20
300,200,150,100,100 then 50exp.
That’s 850xp per day in 5games which can be bot matches. If these numbers are wrong you get even more.
With this math it takes 8bot matches to get 1 tier, theres 100 tiers total and this current pass has about 130days left still.
Other passes will last about 90days roughly, this means you can do 8bot matches and get to tier 90 just by doing fast af bot matches. This leaves 10 tiers.
10 tiers left, now we have a total of 12weeks of weekly challenges, each challenge goes from 150-300exp so that’s easily 10tiers. You can probably do 20tiers by challenges alone.
None of this factors in x2 exp for 1 hrs which is easily 6-12 bot matches. ALSO BATTLE PASSES DONT EXPIRE.
All micro transactions are slot machine levels of being a scam. It isn’t that a one time purchase is a lot, it’s that a one time purchase here or there and maybe over here, is.
People can do what they want with their money, I don’t care.
For me, my digital avatar in a game that I might play for 6 more weeks before moving on is just not that important. If you are more dedicated than me and play the game for years to come, how many skins did you buy that you will never use or see again? I would rather set aside that $20 and buy an entire new game later.
I fully admit to buying exactly two skins for COD: WZ, I felt cheated and dirty each time and 6 months later it was literally money thrown away. There is no lasting benefit, it did not affect how I play or enjoy the game.
Iron man cat ears is not worth 2 hours of my working time.
What are you even on about? I’m maxed out already and I work 50+ a week.
Stacking challenges and boosts is easy levels. Especially on reset day.
This.
Similar situation where the battlepass will be complete long before the next one comes out.
Grown adult with responsibilities that doesn’t play every day here too. Haven’t used any 2xp’s mainly because the battle pass content is boring anyway.
There’s seems to be a lot of older people in this fourm. Crazy how we are the ones that get listened to the least. Then you have the zoomers who don’t even come on here buying up the cat ears lol
the hell you say i work 40 hours a week and finished the BP 4 days ago
You’re trolling right? This battlepass run until May and many of us have already finished it. You can get over 20 tiers done a week by just playing the bonus xp matches with a 2xp on. Once you factor in the weekly challenges, that number jumps quite a bit.
You are right. I can easily afford the $10 for the pass. But I also have standards and won’t be buying any new future Halo products (credits, books, etc.) until the store becomes far more consumer friendly.
