A lot of people in the halo community hate/dislike halo 5 due to all the changes from classic halo. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game, and sprint doesn’t mean it’s cod. It’s been eight years since halo 3, the gameplay has to evolve at some point. So if you don’t like the new changes, or don’t understand what 343i is doing, reply to this post.
How can someone hate a game that isn’t even out yet?

Beta, and just seeing changes. I’ve been asking myself the same question, believe me.
While it is a step in the right direction after H4, it’s too little of a step. H4 made a lot of mistakes with the sprinting for everyone, the armor abilities(carried that mistake over from Reach instead of scrapping it), the custom loadouts, the awful art design, the horrid multiplayer announcer style, and the ordinance drops.
H5 shows that 343 has learned their lesson with the loadouts and ordinance drops. However, instead of scrapping the mistake of sprinting, they’ve expanded on it and now it’s “infinite sprinting for everyone”. They learned half a lesson with the armor abilities, but instead of scrapping the concept, they turned it in to Spartan Abilities. They’ve incorporated ADS, which is something that the series never needed. Leaving the aiming style alone would have hurt nothing, but by tweaking it, they’re putting a sour taste in the mouths of everyone who saw the benefit of a different aiming style for automatics vs precision weapons.
Not every shooter has to be about zipping around the map as fast as can be. The pacing in classic Halo was a huge part of its appeal for me. And by failing to see this, 343 has lost me as a customer.
The lack of splitscreen and LAN play shows that 343 had their priorities in the wrong order when they started development. It has been said that there’s no way that they could have pulled off splitscreen. Well, there’s no way they could have pulled off splitscreen because they backed themselves into a corner. The only reason they couldn’t do it is because the CHOSE to put more emphasis on graphics than gameplay.
Not tryin to be mean, but I don’t see how this/these posts are productive.
We we all know why people hate the game. I feel like these posts are just for people to argue and flame.

I agree that ordinances and loadouts SUCKED. But let me ask you this: Why does sprinting ruin the gameplay? It simply doesn’t make sense for a genetically-modified super soldier to not be able to sprint. And now you can’t regenerate shields until you stop sprinting, which helps balance it out. Smart Scope literally works EXACTLY the same as the old zoom did, the only difference is the animation and that automatics have a bit more range, which let’s be honest, that balancing was needed. And what’s wrong with the graphics/announcer? Just because it’s different from halo 3 doesn’t make it bad. And yes, no split screen is a bummer, but honestly, when was the last time you played
split screen?

It’s not for flaming. I’m just trying to help people that aren’t into the newer features enjoy the game.
I’ll help you out by summarizing all the answers you’re going to get.
- Sprint
- It’s not Halo 2 or 3
- It’s not Halo
- It’s like COD AW
- Req Packs are too much like Titanfall or Destiny Engrams
- No 1-50 ranks
- Warzone isn’t BTB and is too casual
- MCC and Halo 4 suck, thus Halo 5 is going to suck as well
Note, I don’t agree with any of this at the moment and am excited for Halo 5. I like/love most of the changes and a bit of the direction Halo is going. I love the new ranking system as well… I just wanted to save the time of everyone re-posting the same reasons that I constantly hear on other forums along with this one.
Yet again, I haven’t gotten to play Halo 5 except for a few matches at a friends house during the Beta, so I can’t really say for certain. Playing the game and looking at it are two different things.

You won’t OP, to me this thread is just like clickbait for so you can troll them, you won’t change anyone’s mind. Plus for people above like Wilko it is in everyone’s best interest if they just leave Halo for good and finds a new game to enjoy. This way all newcomers to the Halo franchise and veterans like myself who have been with Halo since the beginning can continue to enjoy the franchise and watch it evolve in all it glory to what it is today. Sure Halo 4 was not the best game in the series for Halo multiplayer wise, but without it we wouldn’t be are now which is the true evolution of Halo and very welcome successor in my books to the original trilogy and could quite possibly IMO take the throne as the best Halo to date.
At the end of the day, the game is going to come out and lots of people will enjoy it and criticize it. 343 is doing what they believe is going to make the game better and more unique. They said they were going to change the way Halo is meant to be played and they’re keeping their word. This Halo title will be focused more for graphics yes, but really when it comes down to it, you don’t want a watered down version of a game because of LAN play. I’m not bashing LAN play, but this was a necessary sacrifice. The Xbox One’s limits will be tested by Halo and all other games coming out in late 2015 and early 2016.
Because I don’t have it yet.

Soon.
I think the Major problem lies within Halo 4. If you evolve a traditional Videogame Series like Halo, you have to do it Carefully. But Halo 4 (Multiplayerwise) felt like they thrown the modern Features in such a Series mindlessly. If you put new Features in such a series, it have to be carefully thought out. But Halo 4 felt more like a CoDish game than Halo.(even though it still have some Halo vibe, thats why i prefer Halo 4 over CoD…also the Story were great in Halo 4…i would it even consider es the best of the whole Series). So i think they’re that scared, this will happen with Halo 5 again, that they lost an openminded attitude, which cause, even though its for no reason, they judge/hate against all new Features.
For me its kinda different. I don’t know how i can explain it right, but even though i love the Halo Series and its one of my moste Favorites of all Time. I had some Problems with it over the years back then as Reach/Halo 4 relaese. I lost a bit interest in the Series and needed a break from the Gameseies. Thats why i almost skipped Reach and Fully Halo 4, and played Halo 4 later on the Master Chief Collection, even though i bought original Halo 4 on 360 back then as well. Because i got late in the Game, my expectations weren’t that high(even though i were surprised how good the Campaign is) but if i would bought that Game on Day-One all hyped and so, i think i would highly dissapointed as well.
#BUT - and thats the Point. As far as i see the things, Halo 5 is different. Halo 5 evolve there which (in my opinion) is needed, without throw away mostly of the Halo Feeling/Vibe. Okay, i only can Judge it with Gameplay-Videos, never played it actually by myself, but if i compare Halo 4 with halo 5, halo 5 feels more like Halo than Halo 4 could be. Also, without Halo 5, i would still had bought the Master Chief Collection, but i never would’ve been hyped to it as now. Because Halo 5 brought back(for me) the Vibe of Halo 2. I can’t explain it, but if i look at Halo 5 it reminds me of the hype which i had back then with Halo 2… and that also heat up my hype for Halo 5!

That’s what I’ve been doing so far. -kappa- Take a few pills, turn to my Cortana POP figure and say, “Wake me… when you need me.”

What if you take to many pills though OP and don’t wake up until 2 months before Halo 6 releases??
