I’m not talking about the basic movement jumps though bro. The advanced movement jumps. The insane ones that basically have you covering probably 75% of the map or more in 1 movement combo while your enemies on respawn. The spawn killing in infinite is a mixture of flawed spawns that can be fixed, but also if you’re playing with randoms amd it’s objective, your team mates sometimes are scattered and mess the spawns up. It’s not like a match of reget for example where you can set up on the map and have a dude teeter tottering top mid sight lines into top red or blue spawn to spawn players bottom bases and have a player swooping in each timed spawner and into a 1v1 before the dude can even see anything sometimes man. Did it become a legit strategy? Well yea. It became part of the skill gap. Can you do this in infinite? Not without default movement abilities. Like that example is literally hounding a spawner. It also happened on other maps in other ways. You played high level h5 too so I’m sure you know what i mean.
It just doesn’t play out that way. The spawn killing and bad spawns are due to your team screwing up spawns but also some bad spawns by design that hopefully can get fixed. Perhaps it can be argued that God spawns have always existed but its been so long since I’ve played the other games.
I’m reading some of your replies to others in this thread and I’m seeing the examples. Like I get what you mean about the map called streets where there’s thrusters located right outside subway on arcade street, and there’s drop shield by A tower. This goes back to what I said. The equipment is there for a reason. You spawning subway (C) at least 1 player can gain an advantage to thrust across space to get to cover or close the distance to fight people in arcade, camping tires, etc. The other side has drop shield to temporarily fortify A tower or whatever they chose to go. There’s weapons and such to provide an advantage at each side as well. This leads into a different topic though.
Bazaar has thrusters located to the platform across from palm trees on each side. Thrusters are below rockets in the middle of the map. OS in the middle of the map. Different map design. Aquarius has thrusters front base.
So back to streets. Subway spawns have thrusters to close distance going arcade street, stalker rifle on balcony at subway, spike grenades if you travel purple street, and distruptor straight ahead of spawn to take enemies out of play for like 10 seconds because the dirsuptor is like the most underrated weapon in the game. 3 shots literally takes an enemy out of play with DOT (damage over time) and 6 shots kills them with DOT.
A tower has dropwall and bulldog primarily as the advantages imo, with bulldog and dropwall being annoying to fight against if it’s oddball and they were able to get ball back to A tower or PD. It feels like 1 team has more potential to have a better set up while the other has more tools to break the set up. It’s my favorite map, but to be honest I couldn’t tell you why. I can see this map being one where it can be dissected in detail to really see if it works with what is has, or if it doesn’t. I like the fights on this map, but the locations of items like you’re saying can be something to note. Right now I see it this way, where each side has a different advantage and kind of like a counter to each other in a way.
This is where playing with a team has team starting strats by utilizing map pick ups. It’s a fight for rockets, oddball, orstrongholds. So many ways to play the match when you’re playing with friends and thinking. Alone though? Halo is c@ncer alone imo. I can’t do it and won’t ever play halo alone again. I uninstalled halo 5 probably 4 or 5 times because of such bad experiences. I did love that damn game though. I came back eventually. When I reflect on that game it’s just amatter of either loving the game for what it was and leave it at that, or compare it to another halo and see why things were this or that way and why they’re different now.
For you specifically though, at this rate it sounds like you want sprint stripped with slide as well, and back to classic? Like go all in or don’t right? What will you do? Will you keep playing? It doesn’t seem like you’ll get what you want out of the game, and the most you could do is provide feedback for bad spawns of both spawners in the game and spawns of the items on the map. Those can be changed…but hoping for an all in or out playlist when there isn’t even slayer? Man it just won’t happen and if it does will take years. I honestly thought I’d hop on infinite to see
- team arena
- team slayer
- classic throwback (disabled modern movement)
- turbo slayer (h5 ish settings)
- ffa
Etc etc. Like this central hub bro wher it literally has ever game type imaginable for every fan of each game. 10 year game with so much replay value each time you log on…if you loved classic…load outs…5…and a mix of them all…like why not? We got less than a hand full of playlists though. A lot of people do like the multiplayer, but there are the fans that loved 1 of the halos the most and have never again got something similar.
