Why would you buy Halo4?
The games are so fundamentally different at the core, its hard to say they share many similarities or resemble the same franchise.
Both games have Spartans, regenerating shields, melees and BRs.
And that’s where it ends.
Halo has gotten so far away from its identity, I find it hard to call Halo4 a Halo game. I feel like its a totally different franchise than the one I fell in love with. I feel abandoned. First time I’ve considered not buying a Halo game because I don’t feel like Halo games are being made anymore.
Hey another one of these threads…
One word: Campaign
That’s sadly pretty much it : (
Oh look its this thread again…
Im not going to even start here. Look at thread number 1 before starting your annoying rants.
Halo will always be Halo. People will still have fun playing it, some won’t. Too bad for the people that won’t buy it, because we’ll be enjoying Halo while you sulk while sitting in front of your TV playing another game.

Yet H2 was the least balanced of all the games. It was a button glitchfest. 343 is actively trying to balance it out and bring in options for personal customization and long lasting gameplay. Grow up already times change, people change, games change. Change is the one constant in the universe
I loved Halo 2 multiplayer, as well as Halo 1 multiplayer, Halo 3 multiplayer and Halo Reach multiplayer. And from the looks of it, I will love Halo 4 multiplayer.
While my main reason for buying the game is campaign, as it always has with a Halo game, the multiplayer has always been huge for me. Just because Halo 4 has evolved and is different from a game that came out 8 years ago, it does not mean that it will be bad.
And I’m sorry to hear that you’re considering to not buy Halo 4 before trying it, since I’m 100% sure that you’ll be missing out on a great game if you choose to do so.
Logic fail is fail. It’s possible to like more than 1 thing.
I enjoyed Halo 2 MP, but your entire point is invalid. That’s like saying “You enjoyed Crysis, so why should you buy MW3?” So what if you enjoyed one thing? Does that mean we’re not allowed to play and enjoy something else just because it’s different?
So what if you feel Halo 4 has moved away from Halo 2. Note that Halo 2 was made 8 years ago. Look at CoD now, compare it to CoD 1. Look at Battlefield now, compare it to the first BF game. Look at Skyrim now, compare it to the first ES game. People would hardly recognize it as the same game. Halo 4/ Halo 2 is still more or less recognizable. The point is, the later games are obviously better than the earlier incarnations, although they are barely recognizable as from the same series.
Besides, Halo 4 hasn’t taken anything away from Halo 2’s gameplay except dual-wielding. If your main point is that you want DW back, say so.
I loved the multiplayer of all the Halo games. When Halo 2 added dual-wielding and hijacking, I loved the changes even though they fundamentally changed the Halo gameplay. Same when H3 added equipment. I loved the AAs that Reach added (I was a bit disappointed about removing DWing, but moving on…). And from the looks of it I will love Halo 4’s multiplayer too, just the same amount as I love H2’s multiplayer.
How is it fundamentally different? Different, yes. But fundamentally different? That’s probably a stretch. If anything I think Halo 4 is a step back towards the Halo 2 days.
They’re playing catch up with COD instead of thinking for themselves.
It’s pretty pathetic actually. I’d be pissed if I was MS. Pay for all these devs from other studios and they just go ahead and do what a chimp would do; look at the competition and copy it directly.

People said this kind of thing about reach as well and you know what? All the stuff people thought(knew) would be awful before the game came out turned out to be awful.
I don’t need to play the game to know that having 2 AAs at once is a HORRENDOUS idea.

All I have to say: Halo2sucks.com
Did Halo 2 turn out to be a great game, OBVIOUSLY. Don’t start hating on halo 4 before you know how much of an impact these changes have and how they are spread. Classic playlist are confirmed, we will most likely see a good ranked system this time around etc. I’m sure there will be options for all types of players: form the hard-core competitive Halo 2/3 style gamers, to the over-powered AA loving noobs we saw in Reach.

No, Reach’s AA’s were bad beause bungie never spent anytime balancing them.
If 343 can do this they will be great.

H2 turned out good because bungie changed A LOT of stuff due to complaints.
Launch was pretty bad.
Segregation means the game failed though. Default has to appeal to everyone. If it does not, the niche parts will shrivel off and die. This always happens.

No. It doesn’t matter how they are balanced.
Most people who enjoy halo simply do not want to play a game that revolves around using and countering abilities.
Period. The end.

Yes you do. If you have never played the game, You cant say its awful.
So shut up.
