If you don't like sprint, Adapt

Seriously go back and play H2 or H3 with no sprint.
It sucks so bad compared to Halo 4. It turns the game into a shoot first twitch shooter relying on the weapon you are carrying
Sprint actually adds strategy and skill compared to no sprint which confines you to either dying or not.

Adapt and L2p because sprint is staying

I got over it the minute the beta was revealed. Your thread is not going to change our opinions, so get off your high horse.

Sprint haters say that sprint takes away from skill because people run away.
then be skilled enough to shoot someone whos sprinting.

Exactly
Or be skilled enough to not be baited by them into a grenade trap

Seriously, I mean, a game being faster takes more skill, its that simple, the player who can execute a plan in a game moving really fast is better than the player who needs everyone to be slow just so they can line up the sniper rifle.

What a terrible argument. You do realize you have to put your gun down and chase them, right?

I’ve always held to the belief that those with true skill will look at the sandbox; the abilities, the vehicles, the weapons, and still become a master regardless of challenge or shortcomings of said sandbox. Those players who can take something like sprint and incorporate it into their tactics on when to utilize and how to counter, etc etc. Those who can look at even the lowliest weapon and say “How can I best use this to my advantage?” or “How can I ruin someone’s day with this?” and then get it done.

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
Motto of US Army Green Berets

Sure fine tuning and adjustments can be made, it’s a video game after all…but things like sprint are not going away and one best get used to it and follow the above motto. Me, I’m looking forward to the new and improved Spartan armor system and it’s capabilities.

hes saying you shouldn’t have to chase them, you should (if you have skill) be able to kill them before they get away

I honestly can not fathom a situation where anyone decent at the game could let a person get away from them in an engagement with sprinting. If you’re talking about cross-map, that’s hardly valid.

Sprint is something that’s here to stay, and it’s evident. Sprint has already been substantially nerfed and twice, due to this complaining. But it’s clear that it’s here to stay. It just makes sense for sprint to be a thing. It makes as much sense as being able to crouch. I bet if we reversed this, if sprint was already a feature since Halo CE and crouch was being added, people would be complaining. Not because crouch is detrimental to gameplay, but because for some reason these orthodox halo players are opposed to any kind of change or evolution.

I don’t know about you guys, but while I do enjoy it, having the Halo franchise restricted to only grenades, shooting, and walking, is going to get bland.

No, just don’t sprint when shooting a sprinter, and if they escape, be skilled enough to adapt. Seriously, the people escaping are the ones skilled enough to say “I’ll just bait this guy in”

another perfect example is when a guy is in front of you and you are behind him and you can’t catch up to him for the melee
that’s rewarding the bad player and punishing the one who got behind him

Is it the “adapt” time of year on Waypoint already? “Halo is dad” posts imminent.

Jokes aside, I’ve got zero problem adapting to sprint. The fact that I’m better at Halo 4 than I am at any other Halo game despite playing it the least is a testament to that. Ability to adapt to new mechanics isn’t the problem here, willingness to accept them is.

I’m not telling you to go play CoD, you don’t get to tell me to go play H2/3.

So why not instead support your argument that it makes the game better with a little logic and reasoning? Anyone can say sprint does or doesn’t do something.

By that logic, Halo should have Prone because it is evolution, change, and makes sense. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is?

Well after the time I spent in reach, 4, battlefield, titanfall, CoD, planetside 2, section 8, destiny, homefront, bullet storm, gears of war, mass effect, and basically any other post 2007 game that had sprint, playing halo 2 and 3 without sprint no longer feels like a good ol’ time and more like a spring slowly getting compressed as I try to Traverse snowbound on foot at a speed of approximately 5 miles per day.

It takes more skill to do it without relying on a secondary movement mechanic.

I seem to recall you having a thread that was saying sprint should be removed. Your horse is just as high as his.

“Feels” is not a valid argument.

I’m not the one relying, I’m the one shooting, they are the one I have to keep my sights on as they sprint, and if they pick up a power weapon along the way and are able to ambush me if I give chase, then they have shown skill and have bested me! Simple as that!

Can you prove that?

Situation

No sprit: Guy sees a target with his back to him. Engages target. Target can’t make it to cover and dies. (The guy was shot in the back. He had no chance)

With Sprint: Same as above. Guy manages to get up to full speed with sprint and makes it behind a wall. Now has chance to peek back out and find who attacked him (Says it all)

Those are generalized but in my opinion sprint adds that something extra that shouldn’t really matter to a skilled player. It takes 4 seconds once sprints ends for shields to recharge. In those 4 seconds you can do a lot to finish off the target.

No, I never made a thread where Sprint should be removed. I made a thread that said, “Sprint should be nerfed, more”. You say my horse is just as high as his when I am not the one that just blindly accepts everything 343i gives me because it is new. I need to studied it first.
