Here is something I see as a major problem. Sure, you can deter any argument with “if you don’t like it, don’t use it,” but the thing is if you don’t use something other people will.
In another thread someone stated their opinion against Sprint, and someone else replied “if you don’t like it, don’t use it.”
The thing is, other people will still be using it, which is annoying to you, and if you don’t use it it leaves you at a disadvantage.
A hypothetical situation could be where 343i put a Scarab Gun into multiplayer. Someone doesn’t like it. What are they supposed to do, not use it?
So can people please stop saying this? It doesn’t make for good argument or discussion.
I agree 100%, but I think people like arguing.
That is why you need to find something you do like to use that you can also use against sprint, like jet pack, active camo, armor lock, and hologram.

Laughs, shakes head and facepalms
Saying that if you don’t like it, then don’t use it just means that people are too lazy to come up with an actual arguement.

How clever, I wasn’t implying that at all. If you don’t like it, find something else. It is you who has the problem with it, so you need to find a substitute.

Sooo true, I mean I’ve been exhausting the argument for months. I provide actual arguments a majority of the time, so I could care less about not being dedicated to each and every single argument and post. I deserve to be lazy o.o whenever, but I’m not.
I can’t stand the DMR and I don’t use it. Heck, I don’t even use Human weapons most of the time, I stick to Plasma and Needles.
Guess what? EVERYONE has an advantage over me because of it, and it’s frustrating at times. I only manage because of Teamwork (Friends get human power weapons, and teamshot), a level head under pressure, and a few tricks I’ve picked up along the way. And I think I do DAMN good for someone who plays like me.
If they just made it so I could choose an NR off spawn instead of a DMR (Is that SO BAD?), or a Plasma Repeater instead of an AR. And varied the Power Weapons a bit more, it would make life better for me. Even then I’d still be at a bit of a disadvantage because in almost every situation, a human weapon is better than it’s Covy equivalent.

So…if I don’t like something because it’s overpowered, I should find a substitute?
…Taking the OP’s example what would be the substitute to a scarab gun?

To be honest, you need to adapt.

There is none, but if there were, then a sniper rifle.
If this about the usage of that argument, I agree… Somewhat.
In an argument about playlists, such as “Don’t include Living Dead and Grifball because I said so.”, that argument can be applied there, in a way that it makes sense, E.G, “If you don’t like Grifball, don’t play it.”, however, I can see where the argument can be applied in a situation where it is… less than desirable, such as the example you have given.

As the situation is hypothetical I’m not quite sure what you mean.
it doesn’t make it go away
Then use an alternative sprint users don’t have.
This is like saying “I don’t like the other way people play games.”
