If you don't like Halo 5, don't buy it.

I am so tired of hearing people say, “If you like Halo 5, you want Halo to die.”
If you don’t like the game then don’t buy it. It’s the same thing as if you played something like the Evolve beta and didn’t like it. No one is MAKING you buy Halo 5. There are plenty of other games out there that you can play. You HAVE MCC if you want to play like the original Halo Trilogy. It’s just another game in the end, you don’t buy every new game that comes out in a year, do you?
Hating on Halo 5 isn’t going to stop 343 from taking Halo in a direction that they like. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to spend money on it.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you get your thread locked.

Oh but not buying it definitely will. So no, I won’t be buying it.

There you go. That’s how you tell them that you’re not interested, not by attacking those who enjoyed it.

I do that too.

those who enjoy it are the reason halo is dying. You with the rest of the H4 fan-people that praise 343 for their “awesome innovations” are the cancer that is ruining a legendary gaming era. go -Yoink- yourself.

I’ll probably buy it used or borrow it from a friend.

I hope they don’t kill off the Masterchief

Wow. You sure you’re mature enough to play M rated games?

Hey buddy? I hated Halo 4. Don’t put me into a group of people when you barely know me. You are why I hate the H5 haters so much, because you bash people for being optimistic when they have dealt with H4 and the joke that is MCC.
Don’t like H5? Then stick with MCC or 360. Don’t melt down because people want to see something done with a franchise that has taken some hits over the last 3 years.

I agree with OP regardless of my preferences.

The hate surrounding this game is has no justification whatsoever as a developer has the right to make whatever they want.

People who don’t like it have every right to be dissatisfied and disappointed with the product but the churlish attitudes that are commonly displayed here are beyond ridiculous.

Honestly, we should be past this sort of behavior by now.

Yes because if you don’t buy it, then no one will right.

I’ll just casually point out the ironic hypocrisy in your statement and be about my business.

but if people don’t buy it, it clearly sends a message that the game isn’t that great. If it doesn’t sell as well as its predecessors that’s a red flag right there. 343 tried to hide behind sales numbers and sales pace after people started ripping Halo 4 and then they just pointed to player population. I wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 5 suffered a similar fate as halo 4

I’d bet a full paycheck it’ll happen to H5.

It does more than just tell them the game isn’t great though. It also shows we have no faith in them as a developer which after MCC none of us should even if you liked the beta. No one here has any realistic reason to trust H5 to be a solid game at release based on past performance by 343. If you do trust them, you’re being very naive.

There are fans and there are fools. Don’t be the latter.

NO. I will continue to complain until the gameplay becomes more tactical, and less twitchy, even if it never actually does. I will buy Halo 5, because I want to play the next installment of the Master Chief Saga, and see what happens next.

Everything Wrong With Halo: Twitch Gameplay

You could also just rent the game for the story. If the H5 multiplayer is a huge flop like I’m expecting then that’s what I’ll do. That way I get to play the story but 343 doesn’t get to keep my money.

Rent? Rent? I never rent games. I only buy them for the campaigns–the story, the enemy AI, the characters, the music, the sandbox. 343 can take my money if it delivers those. They can also take in my complaints about the gameplay.

Thanks for the idea, but its just something I’m not prepared to do.

I never rent games either. MCC changed my mind about that. There’s no guarantee the campaign will be good either. H4 shows promise that 343 knows what they’re doing on that facet if nothing else, but I don’t trust them anymore.

MCC didn’t change my mind about renting games. The campaigns functioned, and that’s all I needed to know. The MCC changed my mind about pre-ordering games–which I have only ever done for the Halo series. Every other game I’ve always waited until I can get a good deal and/or bought it secondhand. I don’t get rid of my games either–except for that one COD game, because when I opened the case up the whole thing reeked.
