If you don't know how to play you won't like it

I realized that it’s not to game, it’s just the player. When I got Halo 5, I was getting killed all over the place but now I be killing everyone and always leading in kills, assist and least amount of deaths. This game plays like Halo. People say the new movement is too random but it’s just because they don’t have the proper skill to use them. This Halo was made brilliantly. I just want in game clans and infection and some minor things. But the point is this is Halo 5: Guardians, this is NOT 1, 2 or 3 and thank god it’s not 4 lol. Everytime I play I have 5his intense feel of urgency because that’s how fun and competitive it gets, espiciallly Breakout.

It sure is competitive.

agreed

I agree completely. It takes some adjustment, but once you get it the game is awesome. The movement mechanics and Spartan Abilities also make playing as a Spartan feel a lot more like how they are depicted in cutscenes, fiction and movies. Spartans finally feel like the crazy cyborg military superheroes they were always meant to be

The shooting and driving feels like Halo, but the movement does not. That’s why I can’t enjoy Halo 5. It’s so close to playing like a Halo game, but the pacing is all wrong.

I like the mechanics of H5 my biggest gripe right now is how bad the majority of the maps are. Multiplayer maps are probably the worse of all the series. Their only good ones are remakes of the old ones. No good original H5 maps…hey 343 if you are reading this take some of you campaign levels and remix them for multiplayer. You had some great looking campaign levels why not use them for multiplayer? Swords of Sanghelios is a great level make a map out of that. We need more walls to charge through for multiplayer as well.

Yeah not really. You can literally say that for every game. I’m on a fence with halo 5. I do well nearly every game I play and even then I still get frustrated with the small things that constantly occur.

Plenty of people couldn’t play Halo 2 or 3 but they seemed to enjoy it. Many people play COD but I highly doubt every one of them are super awesome noob hunters.

Did you ever consider that people just have different tastes? And Halo 5 they don’t like?

I feel like its a mix between the player and the game, we can all adjust over time, my k/d has been going up to prove it but sometimes the game itself can make it pretty hard to adjust if they throw a bunch of new things at you a good example would be gear judgement which changed too much, to some people they changed borderline too much for h5.

I hardly played MM on any of the Halo games. I’m playing now on Halo 5 and getting better with each match. At first I hesitated to play 'cause I felt I wasn’t good enough. But now that I know how to play better after learning the maps and strategy, I feel more confident and I like it more.

Halo 5 is the most team oriented Halo in my opinion. I wouldn’t say its my favorite Halo, but it’s definitely a fun game and very competitive. Map movement is very crucial in Halo 5 and if you struggle with that, then you’re probably not going to like this game very much.

Halo has been slowly getting faster since Halo 2 in my opinion. Soon we won’t even be able to see anything, Matchmaking will just be red and blue bluriness and nade spamming!!

I do think it’s been getting faster, I kinda miss the slower pace to be honest. But I have been doing better and it’s getting to be more fun again.

I’ve played other games where map movement is arguably the most important part of the game and I can confirm that if you don’t know how to do it, you’ll suck.

heh same thing happened to me. LOL I was really low on K/D, like 1.1. Then I brought it up to almost 1.3 LOL Even so, in previous Halo that is how it always was. Players get a lot better. That is the main concept of this game, you can’t be naturally good on first time playing, unless you’ve been playing for years.

I think you’re right. But I also think that there is a lot of people who feel that the changes that have been made are personal against them. People who want the game to go backwards 10 years to what they remember and enjoyed. And because we don’t get a copy paste of Halo 3 every 3 years they feel abandoned.

I wish that people would understand that a game needs to change and evolve. That movement and mechanics will have to progress as technology develops. That it is just as important to attract new players to a franchise as it is to retain your fan base.

I just feel that many people who complain don’t fully grasp all the factors that have to be considered when making a game. Halo 5 isn’t perrrrfect (see what I did there), but I feel it’s the most fun I’ve had in Halo multiplayer since Reach. But I’ve learned to take the bad with the good. I find aspects of the game I enjoy and stick to them.

Map movement has always been important to Halo. I don’t get why people seem to think Halo 5 is different. Just because we have shiny gimmicks now, doesn’t mean the old games didn’t place emphasis on map movement. If anything, the older games didn’t give players “Get out of jail free” cards. Map movement was MORE important and punishing.

lol, most of the people who dislike it are the people who are really good at it.

There goes that terrible theory.

It’s hard to argue Halo needs to change to attract new players when Halo 5 has suffered a huge population drop.

Doom 4 has progressed its movement mechanics without interfering with base combat. I think that is the sort of thing fans of the classic gameplay want. Saying they want a carbon copy of Halo 3 every 3 years is largely untrue and helps to undermine real progress for the franchise.
