While I don’t want this to happen, there is a chance that Battle Royale will be in Infinite. Yes I am aware of the interview in which somebody (Can’t remember who) said they weren’t interested in BR. If 343 does do Br then they better do it right. Make us drop from a Frigate or the Infinity in Drop pods, not a bunch of gliders. Make Promethean weapons spawn in Promethean structures, UNSC weapons spawn in firebases etc. If they do Br then I wouldn’t mind scattering some Banished squads around the map for the third party chaos factor. Again, I don’t want BR in halo, but if 343 puts it in the game, they better do it right.
Edit: While I am against gliders and cartoony stuff, I am not against customization, like you could put your emblem on the drop pod. I would like to be able to customize drop pods with theme colors, I don’t want people to be able to turn theirs bright yellow or neon pink like with armors in Halo 5.
Your idea sounds cool. Especially the drop pods. Gliders just look dumb. Especially because this game takes place 540 years in the future.
If they added drop pods and banished patrol, as well as teams, I could accept a Battle royal mode. Maybe
I was vehemently against battle royale being in Halo because the only experiences I had with a BR were the cartoonish iterations. Now that I’ve been playing a ton of COD warzone I can’t help but think how fun a Halo battle royale could be. Halo already has a lot of interesting weapons and vehicles. The rings have enough diverse environments to make an interesting map. The circle closing could be a flood infection zone. To get around shields not recharging we could play as ODSTs. The potential for a fun game mode is all there

This is one of the best royale recommendations I’ve seen thus far on the forum! The “ring” closing in with a strong presence of the flood is perfectly on par with what is needed. A post above recommended that there be banished squads scattered around the map, forerunners weapons in forerunner buildings with forerunner enemies, unsc weapons in firebases as well as the drop pods coming out of a frigate (this could also be multiple pelicans depending on your squad). Very nice!

Flood infection zone sounds cool, but how about a bunch of sentinels that fry you if you are out of the circle.

I like that idea too!

First time I’ve seen a compelling Halo Battle Royale suggestion.
All above suggestions together:
- Play as ODSTs - deploy in drop pods - circle = flood infection zone (the flood miasma works perfectly for this) - weapon caches aligned with structures/areas - banished patrols for the added chaos…(á la attack helicopters while we’re talking CoD Warzone)I mean… I would give that a shot for sure. Cannot believe I’m saying that.
That said: I still prefer 4v4 - 6v6 arena gameplay.

Ok here’s the thing, I’m seeing a lot of people saying that we play as ODSTs which is cool, but Spartans can be in drop pods too. I want to be my own Spartan rather than some random ODST

The return of the hornet!
Yeah when I said Drop Pods I meant the ones designed for Spartans. But an additional mode where you are an ODST and had to search for health packs would be cool.

Ooh, good idea on the infection zone… are we thinking about a cloud of flood spores?

If for some reason flood are not in the game the spores, but if not then maybe tons of infection and carrier forms. Spores should deal permanent damage to health, and skip the shield bar.
Ahhh good points on the BR, if I were to add on hopefully 343 also attempts to maximize their resources with the game mode, something Halo 5 warzone suffered from.
When one game mode is created in Halo it helps branch off to different game modes. Take infection for one example, the creation of the mode made save 1 bullet, chenga etc. It takes a resource that is already implemented and expand it to get the most content out of the game. Parts of the map of a Battle royale may facilitate the process of making an even more large scale war mode or a huge forge pallet.
The idea of flood as the circle is a neat idea but to have a ton of infection/carrier forms (excluding the spores) would take a pretty big toll on the engine depending how big the map is; Still a neat idea though.

What if as the circle decreases, the outside scenery is changed to the green cloud formations. A dense fog would allow the Dev’s to eliminate all the structures, trees, environment, etc. and replace it with a fog. Possibly lessening the strain on the slipspace engine?
If 343i wants to add a BR mods (I cannot stress the “If” enough), no matter how popular it gets, please, for the love of God, don’t abandon the main modes such as MP and Campaign. Don’t pull a MW2019 and make it a battle royale game with an arena mode and a campaign. In other words, keep the Battle Royale a low-priority mode.

^ Agreed. It MUST not take precedence over the “core” modes.
Even starts, all players spawn with an smg and magnum with 1 mag of ammo
all weapons are set and always spawn in the same spots, maybe have a respawn timer too
vehicles are the same but some gamemode variants omit vehicles
no weapon variants or limited ones since many from H5 would just be broken if added
team sizes of 4 players, max of like 20 teams or so
No respawns, or make it to where every 5 minutes a single player from each team will respawn via drop pods
one neutral flag in the middle, each of the 20 teams has their own separate flag cap ( no shrinking zone, just a smaller map )
all players get a notification whenever a team picks up the flag, but do not see the flag location in real time
cap the flag to win, or maybe 2 caps to win ( assuming you don’t die )
Map can also be used for BTB, Infection, Firefight and more with the help of forge ( AI battle royale? )
If you want to do battle royale in Halo right you do that by making a completely separate game with that goal in mind from the outset. Otherwise you are just going to eat up time and resources dedicated to other parts of the multiplayer.

I can definitely see the point here in BOLD
