I know some people didn’t like loadouts, because it was “like CoD”. I think even though those elements were similar I don’t understand the hate for it. Why, specifically, did you not like Halo 4?
For one, I hate the Prometheans. They’re not fun to fight at all. I hate their weapons too. I feel like Halo 4 has no ammo for the weapons either, UNSC, Covenant, or Promethean. I also don’t like the art style, just personal preference. I think Chief looks the worst in Halo 4 and 5 and the Grunts in Halo 4…yikes. They look like turtles. I didn’t like the game play that much either it just felt off for some reason. The story itself was decent I’ll give it credit for that. I know it’s a lot of peoples favorite story of the games but it wasn’t as good to me. I know it sounds nit-picky but just my thoughts on it.
My main gripe with Halo 4 was that it was such a big departure from “Classic” Halo at the time.
Looking back on it, the game was actually pretty decent.
I didn’t like that it expanded on the unequal starts that Reach introduced. Halo should always be equal starts in its core gameplay. I didn’t think it was a bad game, but I thought the multiplayer was weak for a Halo game. The gimmicky abilities didn’t ever feel right either. They just felt like an addition thrown in just to look cool. I wasn’t a fan of all the abilities in H5 either, but they at least felt smooth, and everyone had the same abilities

No qualms with campaign. I enjoyed the varied fighting of the Prometheans and Covenant, and loved the story.
Spartan Ops was fairly terrible, maybe one of the worst things Halo has done.
Multiplayer was okay, but it was missing a bit of that competitive aspect. BTB and squad games I thought were GREAT in Halo 4, but the 4v4 Arena experience had a lot of balancing issues.
I love the campaign, it is easily my favourite by far. The multiplayer, however, was a huge miss for me. It tried to be too different from its predecessors and while I commend 343i for being willing to try something new, I am glad they very much abandoned the idea of loadouts and ordinance drops.
In addition to the above criticisms, I did not like the scripted sequences that were all about mashing buttons. They ended up taking away way too much control and created a disconnect between the player and the game. Halo 4 isn’t bad by any means, but there were a lot of things that it could have done without which would result in a hit. That said, I love H4’s BTB because the chaos of loadouts, weapon drops, weapon/vehicle callouts, etc. all make for a crazy experience, just like BTB should be.
- Promethians - Promethian weaponry - Art style (excluding Cortana’s design) - Boring/uninteresting story - Chief spoke too much - The movement - Spartan OPs (lol)I’m sure there’s a ton more but that’s all I can think of right now.

No I have no issues with sprint I loved it in Reach, I meant just the way Spartans walk it’s like there’s a stick up their you know what. Looks stupid to me.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, some of the walking is a bit funny, particularly walking with a turret.
