Every time I hit the daily credit cap I can no longer receive any commendations for matchmaking. I was hoping this was some kind of glitch but it has happened more than 5 times now. It still adds my kills after every match but never the commendations.
Is this some kind of new cap that I am not aware of?
And no I don’t ever play Firefight and have never played campaign on this account(no commendations boosting of any kind.)

First and foremost, you have no linked acct to see what’s going on.
Second, if you are in fact hitting the credit cap, playing MM all day, on this alt acct, you would clearly know and understand that you can still earn kill counts for any and ALL commendations, and still see credits for completing each and every game you’re playing, but just not earning anything over the credit cap.
Example: Your ‘Sidearm’ commendation is at 628 of 1000. Each and every kill with a ‘Sidearm’ would still register regardless if you were still earning any end of game credits or not. If you had 5 kills in one game, after that game you would clearly see the commendation read: 633 of 1000.
Hitting the credit cap has never effected your commendations, and hope this explanation helps, and link up that acct.

Anyways, I am well aware of how the credit cap works - and I can guarantee you that once I hit the credit cap I do indeed stop getting any kind of commendations. If you go to my game history and compare the last 15 games I played I received no commendations - however it still tallies the kill count.
I checked after every game and the commendation totals remained frozen for about the last 15-20 games I played.
To be honest I don’t even really care about credits - as rank means very little in Reach - but I do like the commendations. 
I’m having the exact same problem, I hit the credit cap, but still can’t get gather 1 commendation point. I’m annoyed too because I must have gotten around 700 kills today and over 200k cR but it didn’t once mention reaching a credit cap.
Is there a problem with the servers at all.

Sorry, this is incorrect. It’s a very understandable mistake since this is a new “feature” of the malfunctioning credit cap.
According to one x360a poster, if you play long enough after hitting 120K, to where you would have won 180K-200K, you will get a message saying you hit the cap and your commendations will unfreeze.
I’ve seen the freezing commendations happen myself with Campaign commendations, though they weren’t frozen for another guy. This thread is a discussion on the issue. I also posted about it in another, more popular credit cap thread. I’m hoping that if 343i knows there is a connection between the malfunctioning cap and commendations, then they can more easily solve the issue.

I will put some effort to duplicate this issue as thus far I have not been able to. Keep on the look out for an update, as it something I have yet to experience, and am the last person to put any misinformation on these threads.
I was not suggesting intentional misinformation on your part. I hope you did not think that. I just thought it was something you had not experienced or heard about. And perhaps it isn’t happening to you; 343i did say the credit cap wasn’t working consistently for all players.
Have you checked your commendation totals in your Service Record? In MM, it will appear that you are getting commendations, with little +5’s (or whatever) in the lower left. But the totals in your service record might not advance.
BTW, someone else has also experienced the freezing of commendations.
After conducting a little research. it breaks down like this:
You hit the cap, your commos freeze.
End of story.
the person on Xbox forums is wrong.
He is stating that commos were frozen until you hit the cap and then you can earn commo numbers AFTER you hit the cap, which doesnt make any sense at all.
As I interpret the post on x360a, he is saying there are two different caps in effect. When you reach 120K, credits and commendations freeze, with no warning message. If you keep playing and keep track of the credits that should have added to your total, then you’ll get the credit cap message at 180-200K credits and your commendations will unfreeze. Did you keep playing for awhile after hitting 120K, to a point where you definitely would have reached 200K without a cap?
I have yet to experiment with this myself, so I don’t know how the x360a poster knew he would have had 180-200K, besides just keeping strict track of his credits on the Game Completion screens.
