If you could make any new Halo game, either a genre we haven’t seen yet, or playability we haven’t gone through yet, what would it be? Also post what you’d like to see as new gamemodes, and options in an upcoming game.
No idea is too crazy.
For me-
Halo: Blooding Years- An all Sangheili based Halo game revolving around the war on Sangheilios and sacrifices made for brethren, explores deeply into Elite playability. This could expand on so much we don’t know about the Arbiter’s war, maybe play as the Arbiter and his allies (N’tho 'Sraom, Usze 'Taham, R’tas 'Vadum) God the hype I’d have for this.
And
Halo: Always Vigilant- (Though I actually dislike ONI, I do like spies. Stealth based game where the player is a notorious Office of Naval Intelligence Spy who takes down numerous threats to the Galaxy, and leaves nothing behind. Include character customisation (Facial and body included) as well as armour and weapons. Include character conversations where the player chooses what to do with their enemy or how to deal with a situation.
So yeah leave your ideas down below, remember, no idea is too crazy. Ever.
Halo: Installation
Set during the events of the Forerunner-Flood War, Halo: Installation is a Halo game unlike any other. With a two-sided approach to the campaign and multiplayer, the player’s first choice will be their allegiance.
Choose the advanced warfare of the Forerunners, and you unlock the Forerunner side of the campaign and a base Forerunner armor set. Your identity in the campaign is that of a new Forerunner soldier nicknamed “Floodshredder” serving under the Ur-Didact. As you rank up, you unlock more armor and gain special skills to help you survive the Flood rampage, and alternate Prometheans, which you can use in place of your Forerunner in multiplayer.
Choose the parasitic scourge known as the Flood, and you unlock the campaign from the Flood’s point of view, as well as you first form: Infection. As an Infection Form with little to no protection, your first priority in each mission will be to find a suitable host to mutate into a Combat Form. Once you have successfully acquired and mutated a host, you control it and its military talent to wreak havoc against the Forerunners. As you rank up as a Flood, you do not gain customizable armor, but, instead, you gain upgrades that improve your infecting abilities and resilience to weaponry, until you finally become a Pure Form, capable of switching between Tank, Stealth, and Ranged forms.
Halo: Installation features a host of new Forerunner vehicles, tons of Forerunner armor, and special Firefights for both factions. The campaign culminates in the firing of the Halo Array, the rings of which meld and reform to reveal the rising face of the Didact from inside his cryptum, thus tying the game to Halo 4.
Halo: Captured
It’s sort of a Horror Shooter where you have to escape a Covenant Cruiser/Supercarrier like how Chief rescues the Marines in CE, but instead you play as captured ODSTs and you sort of have to maneuver your way out. I think this could be more centered around stealth, but still have the same FPS feeling, just with an insanely massive hordes of Covenant.
It takes place between Halo 3 and 4, so it won’t be as effective on the lore and could have some information regarding the Post Human-Coveant War Era.
Halo: ONI Files
A more tactical shooter than most halo games follows the story of an ONI agent sent in deep covenant territory to discover and destroy what new forerunner tech they found only to find a bigger threat awaken.
Your ONI game sounds like a chance to build on the lore of CODENAME: SURGEON. Id love to play as THEM…
My game would be entitled Halo: Pacifica, and would consist a two-stage campaign set on the idyllic colony of Pacifica in the mid-Colonies, a paradise world of seas and mountains. You start off engaging Insurrectionists (but its not CoD style because you know, its Halo, its more tactical than that, and since you’re a normal Marine without any augmentations in this one, so the combats a bit slower and more gritty, represent more of Rainbow Six than any twitch-shooter), but near the start of the game you’re suddenly attacked by the Covenant, who get stranded in-system by the nebula that glows in Pacifica’s night sky.
The two sides have to put aside their differences and engage the Covenant together to ensure their survival.
You play as three soldiers, each with a unique twist on combat; Marks is a UNSC Marine and plays similar to the Squad from ODST, though unsurprisingly less stealth oriented. Squires is a Pacifica Guard militia member, and his weapons are older and his armor softer, but he makes up for it with sheer brutality, his contacts with the locals, and his ability to improvise. And Shaw is a former Insurrectionist gurella, not at all set up for front line engagements but a master of turning her enviroment against her foes and cobbling together weapons on the fly. Her missions are less about shooting Covenant straight up and more about, say, spraying a group of Grunts with Pacifican Sky-Whale mating hormone so they get crushed by a flying cetacean, or igniting a gas main to kill a pair of Hunters.
Vehicle combat is mixed in as well, good old fashioned Halo driving with some new vehicles we’ve never seen before, plus some old favorites brought back. The campaign is long, with each character getting several missions all to themeslves, and several that cross paths, allowing for co-op and splitscreen.
YEEEEEESSSS!!! I’ve been thinking of this for years
A Halo FPS MMORPG where you can travel to different installations, different planets to explore (not like Destiny), you can upgrade stuff like speed strength. Also, you are in the military you do get paid and the levels are the ranks so when you complete a mission you get $ and experience. Players can decide if they want to be in the UNSC or the Covenant(Like Horde or Alliance in WoW) and maybe have subclasses like being able to be a grunt or a regular soldier… but that would be unpopular lmao. Anyways, never really thought of a name for it or thought of any lore for it. Maybe 1000 years after Halo 5? Even have a statue of Master Chief somewhere for his remembrance and commendations. Always just thought of how cool it would be to have a Halo MMORPG.

I really like your idea mate! I always wanted a game to be based off from the Human/Forerunner/Flood War.
Halo: abandoned-
unsc detect groups of prometheans entering uncharted areas of the galaxy, when the unsc follows they find a planet full of primitive forrunner ( the librarian had been surprised how fast humanity had evolved in such a short amount of time, much faster than the forrunner had, plus this could fill the question on where the forrunner went meaning that there were forrunner aboard the ark.) when i say primitive i mean basic space travel, no slip space. the covenant factions follow the unsc and find the forrunners and worship them as gods, some corrupted forrunner take advantage of this and begin leading the covenant factions for their advanced technology while many others return with the prometheans. few however will aid the unsc after they had been told the truth of their past. however a recent forrunner team launched to one of the nearby moons and discovered an old forrunner base, secretly holding remnants of the dreaded parasite, the flood.

maybe not 1000 years, the technology would be like forrunner by then. also you could call it Halo: Freelancer because it seems like you would be more of a go to character other than a simple soldier who has to follow every order.

i really like this idea, i would love another stealth odst game. 343 get to work on this!
Halo: Spartan Insurrection.
A 2-D sidescrolling platformer/shooter that plays similar to a Megaman X/Zero game, focusing on a pair of Spartan III headhunters tracking down and eliminating 8 rogue Spartan IVs that have defected to the Insurrectionist Group (finally put these -Yoinks!- in another game am I right?) Seeing as the Spartans have MUCH higher mobility with their new power armor, what with the dashing and the sliding and wall climbing, and with all the parkour maps, why HASN’T someone thought of this yet?
This story goes through what it was like to be an Sangheili during the Human-Covenant War. You start out as a minor sangheili and after your first successful invasion you are able to go through one of three routes which each will show you what happens from different perspectives, the first is that of a Spec-Ops were you are put in dangerous situations, having to sneak or find ways to solve difficult problems and situations until you eventually become the highest of that field and are given the option to become a ship master then progress from there. The second is that of a normal major, were you will just be another ground troop who works his way up through many battles against humans until you reach fleet master and can either let the battle flow normally or control the situation by putting your authority to work. The last is that of a Heratic, you question the prophets, the religion, and the crusade against the humans until you realize the lies you’ve been told, in this route you can choose one of the other two routes but with this choice you can gather allies, kill off anyone you feel would get in your way until eventually you are either found out or an opportunity presents itself to strike. Granted with the last route you wont succeed but you can escape which will put you in the great schism or just reset you from that point on as a major or minor. Its basically the Human-Covenant war, The Great Schism, and maybe Sangheilios story with you playing as a create able character in any of these three routes following a different fleet.

Already fell in love with the idea man, I remember having at least a month where me and a friend fantasised about an all-elite game like that. Excellent ideas guys, we should indeed take this further to the featured forums!
I’m not going to fully pitch a Halo game, but I think a Halo RPG should be made. A single-player only game with XP, levelling and even perhaps skill mechanics.
Keep it a FPS, but make it more open. Halo has an extremely interesting lore to be explored. Maybe start off as a marine and eventually become a Spartan-IV?
I think it’s a pretty cool idea, anyone else share the same opinion?

Sorta like how Fallout handles stuff but on a slighly larger scale? Yeah, I could see that…making your life on a glassed colony perhaps.
