If you could design something Forerunner, be it a Halo Ring, Ark, giant space city, vehicle, weapon, or otherwise, what would it be like? What design features would it have that makes it distinct and functional?
Personally I’d make a Promethean (still technically Forerunner) spider tank with two separate rotating turrets on the top and bottom of the chassis. The top one would fire a large concentrated sentinel beam or be a triple incineration cannon mortar and the bottom one would be a dual splinter turret for anti-infantry purposes. It would be black and red (favorite colors) and have four legs and a chassis that is kinda reminiscent of a Ratel IFV.
The forerunner kitchen would be run by a monitor called 2814 Greasy Spoon. He would use forerunner technology to analyze your taste buds to determine what you would enjoy most and cook you the opposite as he hates humanity. The stove, refrigerator, and other cooking instruments would folds out and be made of glowing hard light (with glowing yellow specks and seemingly random orange paint.) The pots/pans/plates would use a teleportation system in order to serve themselves in the desired configuration. The desert spoon in the set would have a button which would materialize a group of watchers that would play hideous music and open fire at the kitchen’s patrons if they refused to leave the table quickly enough.
Probably a Forerunner Xbox which is so advanced that it can go do any Console in the world and can transform itself into a small handheld device that can do all those games. Also can apdapt and evolve to be even better.
Forerunner takes on conventional military technology and weapons. We’ve already seen the equivalents of rifles, infantry and air units, why not tanks, AA batteries, atmospheric support ships, stuff of that nature? It doesn’t even need to be from the Flood war; now that Cortana is in control, have her design them, in a “I want to beat you at your own game” type of way.
