We can’t deny that Catherine Halsey is essential to the story of Halo. And for my fellow lore nerds, she’s a massive part of the books as well.
So I ask you, if there was one thing you could ask her, what would it be?
I personally would ask her what she saw in the other members of Blue Team (Kelly, Linda, and Fred) while she was recruiting. The books briefly touch on those details but nowhere near as much as the ones for Master Chief.

Fred probably was seen to have latent leadership qualities and a jack-of-all trades. Whatever metrics she used to test the other Spartans were all probably hit in some way by Fred, but he may have been more on the shy-side of things. Like I said, latent leadership qualities, yet he’d need to be broken out of his shell. Kelly was no doubt seen as feisty and fast on her feet. You’ll always need scouts, but a scout that can defend themselves just as well as any soldier? Invaluable asset. That and her ability to joke was likely seen as a natural way to relieve tension among the other Spartans. Given what they would go through, that was a good quality to have. Linda is a bit of an enigma, but her quiet, reserved nature gives her an air of discipline needed for snipers.
