In regards to BTB and mainly the current arena variant. First, the groups of people I play with do it as well, let me say that. I know the whole subject of dodging teams is nothing new. If not in this game then in future iterations, for arena at least, opposing teams should have no idea whom they will be playing. Having to constantly switch emblems (which doesn’t work when every team is monitoring emblems anyway) or search on alternate accounts should not be the means of trying to match another team. The “player found” system of MCC for example is just the way it needs to be.
Obviously, there’s a lot of fixes needed for arena BTB. This is definitely a main concern seeing as though it greatly affects matches played or the ability to rank up. Constantly grinding against the solo searchers or less “skilled” teams for the chance to rank up a whole 2% every win is definitely off-putting for the majority of players.
I’m by no means on a mission to be champ, but waiting four minutes to match a team of six and have them back out because they don’t want to chance a loss is definitely something that only a degen from up country would enjoy.
Man I can’t remember an entire team’s differing logos, especially as many in a team of 8 in BTB. It’s different if they all have the same logo, but I’ve never run into this.
I don’t really like your last sentence in that post…
But to reply to it, it’s not really a common issue to me. Only time I’ve backed out (with people monitoring) is when it’s me and 2 other people searching (or less) and matching a To7 or To8, for obvious reasons. Once we stack with 4 or more we let it roll, specifically because losing causes us to lose not much by being a smaller team, while winning nets us some generous CSR. Also, being that I already wait like 4 minutes for ANY match as it is, I don’t like being a lobby warrior, I’m here to play.

Nice Letterkenny reference there, but it’s “degen from upcountry”.
Must be nice, lol. I agree that teams dodging other teams is bad, but on the bright side, at least you’re winning the majority of your games even if you’re only getting a small amount of CSR. As a solo player, I don’t have that luxury and I also have to wait 4 minutes, but I get destroyed by stacked teams and lose CSR. Covered gamertags could work, but that’s likely only an option for Infinite at this point.
I agree with you on this, as many teams dodge my team as well. I doubt it’ll ever be fixed in Halo 5 but MCC does have a system in which you can’t see who you matched against until the match has already started.

Last is just a quote from a show. At the time misquoted.
I’m definitely not a fan a being a lobby warrior either. Not losing much csr in certain circumstances definitely is nice. A couple matches in a row I matched the same team in a row last night, knowing I was going to lose it was still a fun time. I’d prefer that over the current situation of having to wait the full amount of time even while solo searching though. Which is currently the case. I guess it’s just something that will have to be put up with for the time being.

Yeah, I’ve played enough btb matches to know how it’s going to work. I know who to roll with and how many and when I feel matches are 60/40 I’ll keep it, but if it’s going to be randoms vs to6 or higher, hell no I won’t do that snowball stuff, especially given its the higher rates teams I’m matched against pretty consistently.
I never used to quit games, I think I quit twice in 3 years of h5 before ranked btb and that was because my kids needed something important. But after the beatings I’ve taken lately from To8 in ranked btb I will dodge all day. If the game has loaded I will wait for the first person to quit then I’m out. I’m at the point where I would much rather leave a game that I don’t have a snowballs chance in hell in than to finish it out and get slaughtered for 10 minutes. With this population fair matches are difficult to come by. Without fair matches dodging and quitting will be commonplace.
