If you can 343i, Please add a "Delete Tag" Option.

Now there are alot of sick people out there and ive seen many of my friends files with tags saying “Author rams” and then add anything after that. These tags dont go away and to the people doing this, please stop, its not funny.

Now if you were to add a Delete Tag option, we would be grateful. Thanks

Thoughts?

I thought Tags were only on Bungie.net So how can 343i change it if its Bungie’s property?

Yes, but the only place you can tag files is Bungie.net It would’ve worked if Halo Waypoint had a file tagging system that was linked with B.net but they don’t. So I think your outta luck with your file’s being troll’d.

No. Have you played Reach? You can tag files from the game.

I wouldn’t mind. I’ve always thought letting people tag others content was a bad idea from the start. I think they should just reset all the tags currently and just give us a long selection of tags to choose from instead; and if there is a tag someone would like to add they could request it.

Somone I think its the same exact guy, every time somone post a file they post “Author Rams X” on it.

I think that’s Bungie’s field.

This is what Achronos, the Bungie.net webmaster, said on the subject:

> The lack of user tag removal is considered a feature, not a bug, at least as far as other tags go. Tags are considered a “democratic” feature - sure, people put stupid tags on things, but good tags tend to float to the top. And besides, if I want to tag something with my own personal identifier (like a group name), that may be spam to you, but it isn’t really. It is just an additional piece of metadata about the file.

> Remember, all someone is doing when they put a non-descriptive tag on a file is make that tag less useful for finding content using that tag. And the mitigation for that is allowing people to upvote tags, allowing the community to choose tags that are used well. Even in that file you linked, the bad tags are mostly below the fold, one offs that the system deliberately minimizes, suspecting them to be minority opinions.

It wouldn’t be much of a problem if say tags expired based on certain criteria. Like maybe only one person searched author rams? One search so it gets deleted from your tags.

After reading that quote though Achronos has the right idea.
