A lot of talk has been going on lately that 343 is ignoring the competitive side. What they fail to see is that 343 should not be focusing purely on the competitive crowd when making the multiplayer aspect of the game.
When Bungie made Halo: CE, they didn’t make it to cater to the competitive crowd yet people, to this day still play it competitively. When Epic made Unreal Tournament they didn’t focus on the competitive crowd either. Yet people STILL play it today. Funnily enogh, that franchise also has another convenient example. When they released UT2003, the competitive crowd was FIRMLY in mind yet it failed. And when Blizzard made Starcraft, they didn’t make it for the competitive crowd either yet in some parts of Asia, it is considered an official sport. (Although, some parts of Asia are, admittedly, also pretty crazy.)
What I’m trying to say is, 343 shouldn’t be trying to focus on one group. They should be focusing on how to make this game the best that it can be for everyone. So, if they can build a fun and innovative game, not only will the people come, they will come in hordes.
They have all the elements to make the game competitive.
Two teams, a set of skills and tools, an objective and one side winner. Competition.
Unless the Obama mod is enabled, in which case… “you didn’t build that!”
No ones asking for the whole game to cater to them, they want the game to cater to everyone as well but there has been nothing released so far that is aimed at anyone but casual players, this is the problem. Heck even call of duty is trying to cater to competitive players now

How has nothing been annoinced for competitive players? Just because they havent annoinced things like “hit boxes are here, here, here, and here.” Doesnt mean that the information given so far doesnt cater to both competitive and casuals, You have to see the bigger picture of things, and stop trying to find the little details in everything. Because the information you seek is already in the information given

Yes, competitive is able to manifest in that.
