I can hardly believe what I’m reading.
What does he want the game to be?
Well done ! I thought I was going well at 54. I am having a lot of trouble with Infinite. Never experienced anything like this with all previous Halo games. I am going to have a play around with the deadzone, next time I’m on, but if I keep getting slaughtered in games, I will probably end up only playing the campaign with Infinite.
There are videos now showing up on line, of unbelievable shots. I watched a video on Reddit yesterday, where a player did a headshot on another player and I couldn’t even see the other player.
Dude I get it, I’m an okay player but sometimes my mood really affects my ability to play. I was a bit frustrated already today so I played a little and got even madder. I find this game is fun but I also think the playlist do not facilitate the intentions of players. I’m someone who always tries to win, but BTB isn’t in ranked mode so I have to play with people I feel aren’t good teammates in terms of goal oriented and I find it really frustrating to have teammates near me not be responsive to helping me in combat despite from my ability to see they are looking at the same thing (general direction), then I notice they then attack an opponent that would be dead if they helped me, literal difference between 1 second. I can’t really say for sure what they see, maybe they are playing on low FOV and just don’t see what I see (120 FOV). I find often teammates are unreliable in gun fights.
I’m sorry where’s crazy vic?
I agree with this. I am finding aiming very hard compared to previous versions.
The aiming felt really off for me until I started playing on PC with my controller.
Halo Infinite just doesn’t run well on my XB1S, and I don’t know why. My buddy has an OG XB1 and claims it runs fine. My PC is much more powerful than my XB1S and the game runs beautifully on it.
Ever since I started using my controller on PC my accuracy has been consistently over 50%.
This is something I have complained about for a long time. The skill matching systems in Halo have never been good. I really don’t think 343 (or Bungie before) or Microsoft care very much about this, because it has not improved since I have been playing. Maybe the programming is too hard or requires excessive server cycles, but it just doesn’t work. I would have little to complain about if they would just match me with people of similar skill.
You’ve clearly never used theatre before. This isn’t hacking, it’s just theatre isn’t great. It’s a replay of the game using stats, not a genuine recording. It always looks like people are missing shots and it’s been like that since Halo 3.
Than why dos 343 ask for videos from theater mode wean reporting hackers and cheaters?
I feel you completely with this post. I’ve played quite a bit though, but the aiming seems to be strange for me, when it comes to the battle rifle. I’m getting a ton of hit markers, but it is extremely difficult to earn perfect medals with it. i had no problem in the other Halo games. I’m on mouse and keyboard, thinking of strictly using a controller because of this one problem.
The data used by theater includes things like where a player was looking, when a gun fires, and when hits were scored. For an honest player, these elements all match up. When a gun is fired and hit is scored but the player was not looking at the target, though, it indicates that something is off. When only certain high-scoring players enjoy these effortless hits, and do so consistently, it clearly indicates hacking.
I agree. Excellent post.
It does not “all add up” with honest players though! Watch again, and watch players who’ve done poorly, they’ll still have instances where the theatre appears to show them missing all their shots but still getting the kill. It’s just theatre. This is not evidence and I’m not sure why you think it is.
I’ve played a ton of time already and not come across a single suspicious player, much less an obvious hacker. Are there going to be some hackers in a game that includes PC players? Of course! Is it common? Definitely not, at least from my anecdotal experience.
You seem confused. Yes, you can show a hacker using theatre, but the suggestion that “loads of people are hacking” because of bad playback in theatre that doesn’t sync properly is ridiculous.
I have played a ton of hours already and have not seen a single suspicious player. Does that mean there are no cheaters at all in the game? Of course not! But it does make what Bjoring is saying extremely unlikely/unbelievable.
Frames win games.
As Nvidia says.
This game has the best AR in Halo by a large margin. Anyone can use that thing and it’s good.
I’m familiar with the slight de-sync in theater, but that’s not what I’m talking about. I’ve looked at more poorly performing players, and I’m not seeing them cleanly missing their shots but getting a kill. It is only some of the higher performing players that seem to benefit from extremely generous shot registration that cannot be explained by inconsistencies in theater playback. A lot of good players are actually good, but many others, particularly amongst extremely high-scoring players, only seem good because they are playing a game with far easier aiming than the rest of us are. That suggests hacks of some sort. Or at least I hope it suggests hacks, because the alternative is that the core shooting mechanics are providing players with radically different degrees of aim assistance and bullet magnetism.
I can tell you it isn’t just the older players struggling with this Halo. Me and my friends are all mid to low 20s in terms of age, and a couple of us have played Halo for our entire lives. Out of about 8 of us, I am the only person who has a positive kd in the majority of matches. Some of my friends (who have played plenty of shooters including CoD, Apex, Valorant, and whatever else) are just absolutely awful at Infinite, and they don’t have a very good time because of it. Raising the skill floor for Halo after all these years was the worst possible way to be new player friendly, and was a great way to alienate the core Halo fan base, who had always been predominantly very casual. I really don’t think we will see much of a change in how the game plays, as the entire sandbox, maps, modes, movement, and everything else was designed around being high precision and sweaty. I worry that even the campaign will feel tougher and not as “Halo” as old fans are expecting. All that said though, I am still playing the game a ton, and me and my friends do have fun most of the time, but we could easily be having a lot more fun if every single match wasn’t a sweat fest.
I’m inclined to agree with this sentiment. HI peaked at 30 fps on my XB1S, whereas on my PC it runs consistently at 58+ fps with my current settings.
I’m also obviously using a different monitor with a higher refresh rate, than I was when I was playing on console.
My aim in Halo Infinite is better than it ever has been. This says a lot as my first Halo game was CE back in 2002 and I’ve been playing online since Halo 3.
