If you are not good.... you are not allowed to have fun

Why would someone accuse someone of cheating when they didn’t have proof?

The straw man argument doesn’t solve anything, just like making assertions of cheating or without some sort of proof to back it up.

I have no reason to defend myself against accusations when someone else doesn’t present proof of any wrongdoing on my part.

We’ve all seen obvious hackers at some point or another. We’ve all suspected players of hacking when it hasn’t been so obvious. I participated in programs that actively identify hackers and get them banned, I’d wager I’ve seen more hackers than everyone else in this post combined.

Bjoring is suggesting the majority of halfway decent players are hacking. Statistically speaking at the rate he’s seeing this “hacking”, I would have seen this rampancy too, and I haven’t, my friends haven’t, their friends haven’t, the majority of players here haven’t otherwise we’d be seeing far more posts about this.

Unless someone accusing the majority of players talking about this game on these forums of hacking without proof, and just hiding that fact, it’s a bunk argument.

No I not part of that all PC players are hackers but wan you do run against some who is cheating it just kills all the fun out of trying the win the game.

I don’t know what you’re trying to say honestly, and I don’t want to be mean saying that.

I’m someone who racks up about 15-20 kills a match, I can’t imagine it would be that fun to go up against me. But that hardly means I’m hacking.

I fine with getting my butt kick in a game if it was done by skill and not aiming hacks.

Then you should be fine with the majority of butt kickings.

There are very few that result from hacks.

Right there with you. I consider myself to be Casual Competitive; I enjoy Ranked games here and there, but mostly play to just have fun. This game, in it’s current state, isn’t it. Myself, I blame the heavy influence of MLG and HCS. Setting the standard for “how the game should be played” - I remember very keenly some of these “big names” being consulted with for balancing and such.

And it’s just ruined so much for so many. They took Thanksgiving Football with the Family and bound it to NFL standards and rules. It was fine before, where MLLG had it’s own place within the Ranked Playlists. If people wanted to play MLG, go to those playlists. But forcing everyone to a playing field that only Pros excel in? That’s not it.

I want to enjoy this game, but so far doing nothing but staring at my dead Spartan isn’t fun at all. The 'learning curve" for the weapons is extreme and the Weapons Drills are no help at all to figuring them out. Among this there needs to be Skill Based Matchmaking, even in Social I’d say, so that teams of “noobs” aren’t getting pitted against “pros”. There is so much potential in this Multiplayer, but there needs to be a lot of cleanup.

No you’re not wrong, aim assist is way less compared to previous titles. I had a hard time myself getting used to it, I’ve pretty much played Halo since H3 and this is by far the hardest halo I’ve played. Don’t even get me started on cross-play lol… just ran into like 3 players either using hacks or macros and just wrecking entire lobbies.

With regards to your thoughts on the slayer and obj game modes all mashed into one, it’s still in beta until the official release on the 8th so I’m 90% sure they will split the modes up. It’s been like this since CE and I see no reason for them to change it now unless they really want to get -Yoink!- from fans.

For anyone curious, proof of hacking can be found in people’s own match replays in the Theater, under the Community tab. Check the perspective of players with a 1.5+ K/D and you will notice that the majority are using aimbots, with a few using more elaborate hacks. This proof is available to literally anyone and everyone who plays the game. Any reasonable individual who reviews their past matches in detail will realize that hacking is already prevalent amongst high-scoring players. The only reason I can think for someone to deny the abundance of cheaters is that they are also cheating and want to continue doing so.

I’m with trando on this. I play on Xbox and I’m happy with cross play. The aim assist on controller is better than aiming with mnk. I haven’t come across a single cheater.

People better than me? Sure, but each time I can look back and see why I died. I end most game with acc between 50-60% and regularly k/d of over 1.5.

If you have proof of someone hacking, good use it. Make a video and post it, but don’t make blanket statements because people are better than you.

I want proof of your accusations, not theirs.

I’ve given you plenty of reasons to deny the “abundance” of cheaters, main one being that at the rate you’re allegedly encountering them (every good player that bests you apparently) you’d see more posts talking about it. At 57 hours in, I’ve encountered at most 1. At 181 hours in MCC I’ve encountered 2, and I haven’t been banned for anything. At 856 hours in Overwatch and 1055 gameplay hours in CS I’ve encountered a combined 21 hackers with receipts of action being taken against them. With hundreds of undocumented hours of CSGO’s ‘Overwatch’ detective mode, I’ve identified well over 200 cases of actual cheating and more than 600 cases of perceived but verifiably false hacking.

If you think I’m a cheater, burden of proof is on you. Making hyperbolic accusations is a good way of getting shut down.

If the rate at which you’re encountering hackers was to be believed, nearly everyone on here is a closeted cheater and I’d be seeing players regularly mortaring BR shots over the sand dunes of Behemoth.

Post your proof or pipe down. I’m done with your crap.

One must be aware of the time you have and for what rank you reach with that time.

If you play 5 games a day you will be bronze but at least you will have fun in 1 year those 5 games will make you gold and in 2 years you will play as a “platinum”. It is the same as going to the GYM, skills are gained depending on how much you play.

Do not get angry, or feel disappointed, just repeat to yourself “With my obligations I only have enough to play 4-6 games, you would say I will be bronze but I do not care I will have a good time” make the most of those games and that’s it.

You don’t have to be a diamond to have fun

noooooo why should they stop

Interesting points of view. I don’t agree with them but am interested in hearing more. What is missing to make it fun? What is the struggle with PC players?

I play with many PC players but they all play on a controller. Love that this is permitted but not opposed to it not being the default. It seems lots of people are frustrated with the toned down auto aim, but I am loving it. It feels so smooth, I hate playing games like cod where I feel like I am fighting the game.

I think the playlists will absolutely be solved when the game releases. I think playing big team battle as others have recommended might be fun. I actually have been quite pleased with how balanced my games have been.

My claim is that Halo Infinite as a whole is heavily impacted by cheaters, not just my games specifically. Thus, any sufficiently large sample of anyone’s Halo Infinite matches, such as those available in everyone’s match history, will provide proof. Judging from steam achievements (“Get the Popcorn”), though, very few players actually take the time to review matches. Most people probably think they are just being outplayed, not realizing that they are being cheated against. I do not state that “every good player who bests me” is cheating, but rather that the majority of highest-scoring players are cheating. This is a small portion of total players (and forum users), but has an impact on the majority of matches. It only takes one cheater to ruin the game for all 7 or 23 other players.

Evidence of your cheating is simply the zeal with which you claim that cheating is not a problem, including obviously bad faith arguments. For example, aimbots can deal with the mechanics of aiming without adjusting the visible UI. Claiming I haven’t encountered cheaters because I haven’t encountered your arbitrarily specified brand of aimbot is a classic “no true scotsman” fallacy. The only people I’ve seen as desperate to deny the existence of cheating in online games are those who have something to lose if action is taken against cheaters.

Ooft nah you actually posted twice. Youve got SERIOUS issues bruh.

You would find hackers in single player Mario dude. Its time to throw the hat in and give up gaming.

lol I remember when my dad said he was too old to play Goldeneye 007 on the n64. I feel ya

So just give up and let tham hack Halo because you can? Hay 343 staff you ok with this?

In my opinion, and many “better” players, the game is too noob friendly. The sandbox is all wack and the difference between perfect ttk and average ttk is too narrow.

Most of the difficulty in Infinite is fighting the aiming system coupled with bloom on weapons. Not only is something terribly messed up with the aiming response, but aim assist also seems to be proportional based on the level of an enemies shield, which could explain the difficulty with cleaning up low health spartans.

I’m 58. The advantage is ours.
Sure, I’m slower, but we’re smarter. I see too many older players content to suck and use age as a cop out. Stop.
Learn the maps, every nuance of the weapons, and harness the power of teamwork.

Btw, there’s a good Guardian article on why older gamers thrive in Infinite.
