make more leaders that are defensive, i think atriox is so popular cause you dont have to rush with him, so umm make more leaders like atriox instead of releasing rushing leaders every dlc, i made this cause im sick of atriox getting nerfed literally every single patch just cause he’s most popular
Thank you. Fingers crossed one of the 2 leaders from ATN is defensive in nature
I don’t even play defensively and I like Atriox a lot. I like how he doesn’t have any drops and focuses on keeping units alive, so that’s what I like, he’s more unit focused than other leaders that can use nukes and unit drops that feel cheap to me.
But they keep nerfing him.
I’ll have to see how this patch plays out before I make a judgment.

I would agree, but we all know atriox was pretty balanced amidst all the Banished Leaders…

Agree. He’s very versatile.
Id like the Atriox nerfing to come to a halt, please.
Agreed
The atriox nerf was literally 50+ energy and supply cost for bulwark. Barely going to make an impact at all. He’s still going to be insanely powerful because he is a solid leader.
So Johnson, Arbiter, Jerome, and Colony are all considered rush leaders? News to me.

i never seen anyone use arbiter or jerome and not rush, johnson is garbage, and colony is versatile

Yeah you can rush with these leaders but they’re not primarily rush orientated like Shipmaster and Kinsano.

With Goliaths being around the same cost as enforcers now, I bet we see a lot of Colony rushes
I think Atriox definitely needed this nerf in particular. Bulwark was WAY too good for it’s cost. Invulnerability is huge; it allows you to completely mitigate a leader power as well as make it so you don’t need to move your army AT ALL to escape it, so you can keep firing. It takes the strategic aspects of “don’t have your army in a big ball” and the importance of good micro and renders them completely pointless. As a result, Atriox has had probably the lowest skill cap of any leader in the game. He is super strong, even if you aren’t very good at the Halo Wars. That is unhealthy for leader diversity, and usage statistics reflect it.
I’m behind this change. It will force Atriox to play more strategically and not have an easy out of most engagements.

You make good points.
As much as I hate to agree.

What? Lmao, I mean he’s no Shippy but he’s not the lowest skill cap, that’s Cutter…
Using Bulwark to block is difficult (mainly due to unresponsive wheel). Did you know that Bulwark gives like 1.5 seconds of invulnerability, and you have to keep putting points on it to increase that. If anything it was incredibly balanced.
Using 2 extra points on bulwark while the enemies are getting Devastating Host, Close Air Support, Displacement, etc. Atriox don’t even have high tier powers because it’s unrealistic to be able to use them on a 1v1 the same way other leaders can use theirs, Atriox probably has the most expensive leader powers and they keep going up lol.
Give. Me. A. Break.
Atriox is an extremely powerful leader, and him being both relevant and competitive in I believe every meta so far despite various nerfs proves that. There wasn’t really any community consensus on Atriox being too strong this season so CA must have some data that supports this Atriox nerf. People continue to pop up on the leaderboards with Atriox and a nerf this small won’t change that. And even if Atriox does become dumpster tier at some point, take solace in the fact that CA will always strive to make every leader competitive and viable. They have strongly reinforced their position on that this patch.

(Just Adding)
TLDR:
It Was a dirt cheep leader Power that can heal and temporarily make an army invincible
Vs
UNSC Restoration Drone which was more expensive and did not make you army
Temporarily invincible

Could it be maybe that he’s also pretty fun to use? The hero unit is fun and the leader has been pretty solid all along just like every other leader should be.

That’s not even fair, mainly because only atriox has bulwark, while I believe all UNSC have restoration drones. And then, restoration drones heals a lot while bulwark you hardly even notice the healing.

Regardless of if all UNCS have Restoration Drone or a few, Bulwark in comparison is much more impactful and efficient in comparison.
