… I kind of hope that they are like Gears of War 4’s, Team Fortress 2’s, or Fortnite (As much as I hate bringing the latter up)'s seemingly universal skins.
By that I mean, you can apply the same skin across multiple guns, including map pickups (IE having a Spartan Laser with the Mister Chief-themed skin, Grenade Launcher with a Sharktooth-themed skin, et cetera). Not the whole ‘buy the skins’ garbage, I’d rather you earn it.
If weapon skins make a return I would prefer them to still look like actual guns, different colors would be fine like with the armor but otherwise camo patterns (urban & like) at most, definitely nothing like pizza or HCS skins.
Maybe have emblem spot for the gun at most, separate customization from the player emblem.

Honestly I liked some of the funny skins. I usually see people running around with Master Control and the HCS stuff, but sometimes it’s nice to use Last Slice and stuff just for the amusement of it. One of my favorites for the DMR is the Monstrous, just 'cause I like reptiles. If anything, those sort of ‘joke skins’ shouldn’t be the majority of the skins. A few sure, that’s fine by me. But if two thirds of the skins are silly over the top things? I’d probably take issue then.

Forgot to mention some of the picture type things, something like with Halo 3 flamethrower with the painted mouth would be fine with me too in addition to earlier mentions.
Something that reminds me of shark mouths of WW2 british fighters.
Though with the french fries skin & the like the joke gets old so fast, it’s pretty much like it was cool once but after years, it just looks like it doesn’t fit in a military shooter.
Master control is something that basically yells that the player is there, shiny lights just makes people easier to spot & shoot, in a related note, hopefully the designers de-noobify the camo part of the armor, in 343i games it feels like shadows do nothing & the armor just kind of glows everywhere.
I also wish they would not be randomised and you can actually get the skin you want rather thing getting a chance for a skin you want. I think they confirmed that there are no gamble-boxes in Halo Infinite so at least something is done right.

I mean, yeah, the more reasonable ones taking precedence. Halo 4’s were relatively sane, such as the skins included in the Champions Pack (Minus the Steel Steampunk skins). Halo 4 actually got Weapon Skins for mainline (Loadout only) alternative skins right, as every skin, even if they completely changed the color palette (The Carbine Alt, all the BR alts), was a quiet and nonvibrant setup.Other reasonable ones include Ruptive (Camouflage) and Blue Steel, or Gold Standard; All are either noninvasive or at least a camo pattern.
I mean, some fun skins are fine, or ones that show progression by maybe choosing flashier colors like gold or something. Just not the norm-and those that are themed (Noble themed, SoF themed) shouldn’t be ENTIRELY THAT COLOR.

Sorry I can’t agree ^_^"
I despise skins like Pizza or “Metal colored” or animated stuff or bright colored ecc… I would support JUST sober skins, but I would prefer them to ditch skins at all, there’s much more important content to make, like tons of launch Game modes!
I don’t mind skins coming back if they’re military designed. I hated how H5 used skins to sell req packs, cause it made the game feel too cartoony and kid friendly. Been playing BO4 lately and really noticing how games like Fortnite have turned military shooters into cartoony type games, to cater to the younger generation. Everything in COD used to be strictly military inspired, but now look what it has become. I don’t want to see the same thing happen to Halo.
