I’m not talking about ranked matches where a teammate quits out, but ones that start with only 3 players on one team. I’ve had this happen to me a few times and I was wondering if those matches still impact your ranking? Doesn’t seem fair to penalize a team because they weren’t given a full team and therefore a fair shot at pulling it off.

It seems to negate the loss.
Which is good because unlike previous Halo games, being a player down is effectively a death sentence. I haven’t seen any game come even close.
Although I mostly played Swat, snipers, and slayer, so maybe I just didn’t run into it so much.
I’m pretty sure 3v4 has always been a death sentence in relatively competitive games.

Yeah maybe. I just think the effects are vastly lessened in Slayer, due to people not being funneled to specific locations, and especially SWAT and Snipers due to the lessened kill times.
But once the other team is populated with people who know exactly where you’re spawning at all times, those are game over too.
