If this is a battle royale game & replacing Halo 6

…then Halo is dead.

Good god

This looks like a prequel side game. Why did they cave to the nostalgic “fans” who don’t even keep up with the series and just whine that it doesn’t look like it did when they still played?

The latest news update suggests that halo infinite is a sequel to h5. (Please no battle royal)

It continues the Chief story after Halo 5 and looks like Halo again. Hopefully no more ugly Halo 4/5 armor.

This whole battle royale subject in halo needs to be shut down. Didn’t 343 already confirm Halo will not have a Battle Royale mode?

Chief and Blue Team’s armor looked incredible.

It was the multiplayer armor that looked bad.

I wouldn’t say that man at least in my opinion. Cheifs armor in halo 4-5 was ok but I think mark vi classic is much much better. As for the rest of blue team freds armor was ok, kellys was just an eva rip off and idk what the hell was going on with Linda’s helmet.

Listen I respect your opionion but I and many others really disagree with you when it comes to them brining back the classic artstyle and hopefully classic gameplay

The original MK VI design is a relic of the 2000s sci fi trends.

The 4/5 MK VI is seriously some of the coolest armor I’ve ever seen.

I’m not saying the 4-5 armor is bad i think it would be pretty cool if it’s an armor choice in halo infinite’s multiplayer but classic mark VI has always been my favorite armor in halo ever since I started playing. It’s the iconic armor everyone knows when they see it because that’s the armor everyone thinks of when they think of chief.

It better not be, and I hope that 343 is smart enough to realise that, and by the looks they understood what “Classic art-style” meant so I hope they also understood that BR is being over done (even BF V has it, like why? What about conquest?) and Halo should stay unique and SET trend, NOT COPY them.

Well for starters, those fans of old have played a big role in the popularity of halo. So naturaly their opinion holds weight. And we dont know if halo infinte will be good or not, regardless of what kind of game it is. Halo ce was a suprising hit form out of the blue, and so was the changes made in halo 2, so as far as we know infinte could be great.

it says in there post its a sequel to halo 5, so no dont worrie about it. its probably if anything just more open world, scale halo than we have had before.

The way I see it most classic fans didn’t drop Halo. Halo dropped the classic fans.

No they just got old and tired of the series after 15 years.

So did they get tired or the series after 15 years or do they “whine that it doesn’t look like it did when they played” because your argument is contradicting your original post?

I’ll use myself as an example. I’ve played since CE and I don’t like how the new games play so I don’t play them much. I would very much like the series to go back to classic gameplay and I know for a fact I’m not the only one who feels this way.

The art style for Halo 4-5 is not bad, it was terribly introduced though. MC goes to sleep at the end of Halo 3 and wakes up at the beginning of Halo 4 with this new armor. WTF. They should have built it up where the Didact recks his Halo 3 armor in the middle of H4 and then gets the new one from Infinity.

Stop bringing up the stupid battle royale topic, there’s no evidence that they’re planning on doing that. In addition, it has been confirmed that it’s not a prequel and that the artstyle is a new one that’s a hybrid of the last two.

You know, I too have been playing since CE. And I actually rather enjoy the new games (though, CE is still my favorite) but I think it’s becoming pretty clear that it’s not a vocal minority, but rather a vast majority that would prefer Halo to return to what it was. There was once a time when changes & new features were welcomed and praised (i.e. go check out Halo 2’s E3 demo) but that was when Halo was new & fresh. I think by Halo 3, it found what it needed to be.

However, I do have a theory. It’s a loose one. I think if Halo never changed, it would be in the same position it’s in now in terms of popularity and population. Look at the criticism Far Cry gets: “Same old same old”. That it’s copy & paste. Redundant. That it rarely tries new things. I believe if Halo had just stuck with what worked (Halo 3), it would be the same criticism, people would be bored with it, but instead it changed too much. So people miss what it was. So now, instead of needing to pull a rabbit out of its hat, it only has to pull its old self out of its hat. Far Cry has to reinvent the wheel. Essentially, Far Cry had to come up with its own version of Reach or Halo 4, only not screw it up. And I’m not sure if Far Cry 5 did that or not … I liked it. But really, it was pretty much just another Far Cry. And the reason that theory is so loose is that Far Cry isn’t a competitive online shooter.

But anyway, essentially, I agree with you. I think Halo removed itself so far from what it was that it gave itself an opportunity for a glorious return. We’ve just got to wait & see if they pull it off or if the masses will accept it. And as someone who still plays ALL of the Halo games and never really stopped, and as someone who does enjoy both classic & modern Halo, if Infinite goes full blown Classic, that’s great. I’ll enjoy the hell out it. And Reach, 4, & 5 will still be there for me to play as well along with the classics, because -Yoink!-, I still play them all. So as far as I’m concerned, if going classic is what’s best for the franchise (because clearly the new stuff hasn’t been) then let’s go for it.

This is not going to be a Battle Royale game. There will likely be a Battle Royale multiplayer mode similar to PUBG, but it would go in addition to an area style traditional Halo MP mode, Warzone/Firefight, Forge, and of course regular campaign. And 343 said going forward they would bring back split screen co op on all future Halo titles like they did in the past since Halo 5 got so much back lash for removing it.

343i knows that any change from the original games will garner a backlash so strong that it will break the community’s faith in them. So Battle Royale is definitely not on the table for the next Halo game. Seems that 343i has learned from past mistakes of deviating too much from the original Halo games and is trying to restore the franchise.
