If they make a Halo 2 Anniversary

Do you think this is a good idea?
as most of you know, Bungie said Halo 2 was an UNFINISHED game. so what if 343 ‘finished’ Halo 2? of course, people might not like the difference, so they could make the game with two discs.

Disc 1: Strait up Halo 2 with updated graphics.

Disc 2: finished Halo 2. with the enemies left out put back in, levels that were cut put in. and even finishing the Brutes. Since the Brutes were not fully tested before releasing Halo 2. 343 could make them the way Bungie intended.

Anyone else agree? I like this idea because it gives players both what Bungie wanted to give them in the first place, and what Bungie already gave them.

It’s not going to happen, but I like the idea.

> It’s not going to happen, but I like the idea.

yah thats why i said if they made Halo 2 Anniversary. and it does seem like a little extra work for just a remake. but still, i think most fans would like it

I wouldn’t mind a remake, chances of it getting remade are slim. But if it does, I’m all for it.

Well, if Halo 2 were finished, there wouldn’t have been a Halo 3.

> Well, if Halo 2 were finished, there wouldn’t have been a Halo 3.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but even if the cut levels were included, the story wouldn’t of concluded. By memory, there were an extra two levels on the Dreadnought, and that was it.

Originally, Halo 2 was suppose to end the fight. The original ending would bring the Chief back to Earth with a big show down to end the game. The Artifact seen in Halo 3? That was originally the Ark, and Halo 2 would have “Finished the Fight”.

But yeah, later versions would have ended with something like a “warthog run” through the Dreadnought. There was also a version were Miranda Keyes would team up with the Prophets and arc-weld a thermonuclear bomb to the Chief’s back.

I don’t care if it was unfinished by Bungie’s standards, I think the game is a masterpiece and their best game. If it was to be remade, it should be an exact remake. Though it does need it’s multiplayer back on XBL. That should be a priority if they were to remake it.

> There was also a version were Miranda Keyes would team up with the Prophets and arc-weld a thermonuclear bomb to the Chief’s back.

Wow. I never knew about this. That sounds like something a 12 year old writing fan fiction would cook up.

Now that would’ve been interesting. :open_mouth:

I could see just 343 updating the graphics and making a multiplayer and releasing it nothing else just like Halo CEA

If they do, expect a slap-up job like Halo CEA. Updated visuals (but still with lots of pop-in, because this is 100% FAITHFUL REMAKE!!1!) and all the quirks that were in the original product.

I wish they would just polish Halo 2 and update the graphics and glitches. They could make a killing off the multiplayer if they let stay the same.

not entirely. There was a species left out called the Drenol i think. and you know that part were Chief “Gives them back their bomb”? that was supposed to be an entire level. and then two were supposed to be on the Dreadnaught leading up to the point were he jumps out of the ship and falls to Earth.

and the Brutes werent fully polished.

Halo 2 was a great game, i agree with that. But Bungie confirmed they had not finished it. Fans demanded they released it earlier, so they had to rush things. and many things were left out

I have a strong feeling you made up that last part based off of the Chief and Samus video or something. Were Chief takes off his chest piece with a nuke on it and blows up the Covenant and escapes with Samus. and then it ended with Chief being a girl.

Good informative post but MS rushed Bungie, they gave them a deadline to get it done before Christmas 2004. I don’t think the fans influenced Bungie or MS any more than usual, we all wanted it but Bungie was basically strong-armed by MS to 'git ‘er done’.

thats why i would like it if 343 gave us what Bungie wanted. Maybe they could work with Bungie?

Yeah, that would be cool but doesn’t 343 have some Bungie people? Maybe they can realize that somehow, through mistakes and being rushed, the almost perfect game evolved. I hope they don’t make the mistake (imo) of changing too much, fixing something may not be fixing at all…fixing may ruin it or fixing may make it better. I hope they make the right choices.

I also feel that if they give us the MP back just the way it was, they will not split the community. We will just buy H2 and H5 and play them both. MS will not lose revenue if H2 is popular for several months. For now we will buy every Halo they try to sell us so it’s up to 343 to give us the best of both worlds. We want our cake and we want to eat it all, it can only mean more revenue, not less. We don’t leave a game for another, we play them both or all on the same servers but rest assured, if H4 or H5 fails, it will be because of it’s own merits and not due to H2 being made or not.

The substantial revenue for Live I think only comes from new generation members, people who have never played online before. Because the population is kinda topped-off (some leave and some come back) it’s the next generation that will be adding to profits or not. As far as I’m concerned, they might become H2 fans for a short while but we’ll all buy a disk.

Personally, I want it on my console because I use my computer for other things.

thats why i came up with a an exact copy of Halo 2 with updated Graphics. and then on a seperate disc (in the same case) was a Halo 2.5 or something.

I would LOVE just a straight up Halo 2 remake. Like Anniversary but it being Halo 2, it’d be Heaven on a disk in beautiful new graphics with new achievs to conquer. lol =)

No one has said “yea were going to make a halo 2 remake” but no has said no halo 2 as you all know came out November 9 2004 almost 3 years after halo CE came out so if they are going to make its probably going to be now that they have finished with halo 4 just about and because they are just adding a new graphic system it shouldn’t take long and would be use to bring back old maps a pack like they just did this past November
