If they can add new armor and skins...

…why can’t they add new vehicles?

Don’t get me wrong, I love that 343 is giving us some more content to keep the game fresh but I’m not the only Halo fan who desperately wants the Falcon back.

They said they can but the demand isn’t high enough, and I’d rather they devote the resources to the next game

The only map with a big enough area/skybox to use the Falcon would have to be a custom Forge Island map. Any other map is too cramped with either not enough actual space, or the invisible ceiling is too low.

Apparently there isn’t a lot of demand. Look at how many little replies and support this thread has gotten. https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst217341_Vehicle-demand.aspx
They can but basically said that the demand isn’t there. If the demand was there, then we could have returning vehicles.

They can’t add new vehicles to the game because they would have to rewrite the coding in every map to support the vehicle. The reason that they can add new Armor is because that data is stored within the player’s profile, which is a flexible entity that’s not hard coded to any particular form.

In other words: 343i would have to force everyone to download a new version of every map in the game. That’s about 3 gigabytes my friend, and that’s well not worth the 3 and half gigabytes I have left on my hard drive.

However, they could feature new vehicles in a map pack, but the vehicles would be limited to those specific maps.

The same could be said for armour, actually, since all assets are found in the map files and are read from there. Since 343i found a technical workaround for armour and weapons, it would be safe to bet that the same could be done for vehicles, if they really wanted to.

Are you kidding me?! THE DEMAND ISN’T HIGH ENOUGH?! What kind of bull crap is that? Nobody was demanding for new stances, but we got them. UGH.

Did they say they found a technical workaround for halo 4? I’ve been positive about them being able to just add new stuff due to the multiplayer being installed on the Xbox.

Reach and previous had this limitation but I don’t think halo 4 did have the same problems exactly.

@adam

You want them to add that? Post on the other thread about it. If enough people are interested, there could be an awareness campaign on several forums but if people can’t agree on it cohesively, then chances are lower.
I actually got a nice idea for a campaign if people are interested enough.

I did. What’s your idea?

Personally I’m more concerned with this as proof that 343i could implement the Elites as a playable model.
