Who ever made this achievement needs a kick to the family jewels… I have assassinated that elite 1000 times and can’t manage to time it right or whatever. I do everything that all the YouTube videos say to do and yet no achievement…UGH!!

You’re totally right, after almost one hour of failing it popped up and I was just feeling so damn good that I went into the café on the other side of the street, grabbed the girl I loved secretly and kissed her. That was 2 years ago and we are still together, so it’s the best achievement I ever got thank you Halo Reach (:
This one is a -Yoink- and really depends on the Elite position to execute this correctly. Because if the Elite is too close the fall doesn’t actually kill you so the cheevo wont pop whether you assassinate him or not. IMHO the only place you can this to pop on POA is when the elite is standing about 15-20 feet behind the broken down pickup. You need to sprint off the edge and keep pushing forward to get enough distance so the fall will kill you and make sure you stop sprinting just before you assassinate him. You may have to restart the mission several times to get the elite to be in this position when you first get the to the cliff. Also being on legendary mode because you seem to die from falls easier.

For me, it only seemed to work on Legendary. Never on any difficulty lower than that.
Yea I tried to get the achievement time after time and have assassinated him more times than I can count . I’m not sure why I don’t get the achievement but i do have a few tips .
make sure you cut your sprint off before you get to far away from the ledge other wise the game would register your character as being able to survive the fall (wouldn’t get the achievement) also instead of running directly off of the cliff the if a tree right around the corner stand next to it and then sprint off of the cliff, it will throw you farther and you can cut your sprint off at a really early time in your jump allowing your chances of getting the achievement to be a little higher

I got it, not exactly sure what I did different on the try that I got it on. I think the assassination animation wasn’t the one I usually got which is the head stomp one. I think it needs to not be the head stomp animation which means you need to like hit the elite lower on the back maybe.
It wasn’t that bad. I got it in less than 10 tries. I failed mostly because of his shifting position.
Took me quite a while to get this too. I do remember cutting my sprint whilst doing it. Followed a YouTube video for tips that helped a bit, but it’s mainly trial and error. Don’t give up!

Oh I remember the pain. This is truly one of the most frustrating achievements. it took me a few hours and one controller
Half a day of play time spent in attempts so far, and no luck. Will keep trying though, as this is one of my last achievements and I am sure Noble 6 wouldn’t back down!
I had so much fun with that achievement. It took me about 15 tries, equivalent to about 30 minutes. I’ve heard that it gives other people fits, but I just took my time and tried to learn the timing of how the elite’s guard walk pattern was, and where the best spot to jump from was and etc. I messed up a few tries, and the AI player ratted me out by shooting too early a few times too, but it was a good time.
