It was recently confirmed, although may still not be 100% official, that invasion isn’t happening. I know it may be obvious but I still thing it is worth pondering if 343i is actually trying something besides regular BTB to satisfy those who want Halo to have more large scale battles.
I don’t think Dominion will be the solution as 343i probably knows that the gametype was never too popular on Halo 4 while the population was higher, probably less so now.
When I think about it now, 343i should really test the player base on how they will like a Dominion 2.0 by rolling out a playlist for regular Dominion on The MCC. What do you thing 343i is planning, if you think they are planning at all? Dominion 2.0 or just scrapping Dominion and sticking with regular BTB gametypes like Slayer, and Objectives?
Dominion seemed pretty popular. When Lockdown was added it dwindled a bit, but it was pretty liked. Maybe not so much as standard BTB/Heavies, but it was far from unpopular.
Such a shame if both Invasion and Dominion aren’t coming back. Both wonderful game types…
I think we’ll have neither dominion nor invasion at launch. Porbably later dominion though
I love these multiple objective gametypes, so I really really hope something like this launches with H5G. Not a deal breaker if there isn’t a mode like this, but I hope it’s there.

Personally, I would love for something new. Something that hasn’t been done in Halo before. They can always add invasion in a separate DLC later, or even dominion. I just really want something new.
