If there is bloom in halo 4, here is how it sould work

I’ve been thinking recently about how 343 will be putting features like bloom in H4, now I hate bloom in Halo:Reach because IMO it doesn’t work the way it should. Heres how I think it should work:

Precision weapons:
Bloom works like the sniper in the way that you cannot fire while it is expanded, therefore it cannot reward spammers since you are actually using a forced pacing + it doesn’t suffer from bullet magnetism since it is always fully reset.
(ex: sniper, dmr, NR, etc.)

Automatic weapons (fast RoF):
Weapons that have a firing rate similar to the SMG should have recoil, not bloom. The more you hold down the trigger, the more the reticules goes upward, forcing you to burst fire at medium range.
(ex: SMG, Spiker, etc)

Automatic weapons:
Weapons like the assault rifle should have a medium spread between the precision weapons and the close quarter automatic weapons, making its range almost medium. It has recoil but smaller then the SMG type weapons.

Other weapons:
Reticule stays un-animated
(ex: rocket, shotgun, sword, etc.)

And also as a sidenote, for the sake of it, have nice looking reticules not the reach round ones (I’m talking about the DMR here.)

Keep in mind i’m mentioning reach weapons to compare, not because I believe they will be in the game.

If there is bloom in H4 it should work like bloom does in Gears.

Moving? Bigger reticule.
Standing? Normal reticule.
Crouching? Smaller reticule.

If there’s bloom in Halo 4 it should be kept as a configurable option in custom games and kept the hell out of the rest of the game. I’m all for keeping Reach’s less than beloved mechanics… as long as none of them ever make it into matchmaking outside of an Action Sack type playlist

did you even read what i said?

Your ideas seem pretty thoughtful, but I just don’t want any bloom at all in Halo 4. I liked the TU in Reach much better than vanilla Reach.

I know, I was just saying that this would be the only acceptable type of bloom for me

OMG please dont mention the word “Bloom” or “Armor Abilities”

haha, it seems to be the only way to have people notice a thread, I bet i could scream “ARMOR LOCK ROCKS” and have 200 more people looking at it :stuck_out_tongue:

That would cause some bad camping issues.

You realize that he is proposing basically TU NR bloom on precision weapons right (which is No Bloom unless you shoot immediately after swapping weapons.

I’m happy someone actually takes the time to read it

You’re trading mobility for increased accuracy.

well the only way you can stay alive in halo is being in constant movement, it works to stop moving in games with not much health, but in halo with shields its not worth it

LOL.

Wow, just wow. That’s all I have to say.
